The START 2021 STRONGER Challenge [CLOSED]

Discussion in 'Events & Challenges' started by Deleted Account, Sep 3, 2020.

  1. I once took the internet modem card out of my computer and snapped it in half because I was so disgusted in myself. You’re making important changes right now. Overcoming P takes an extraordinary amount of effort and sometimes our most drastic efforts are the things that end up freeing us. Keep up the good work!

  2. Experiencing strongest urges by far that I have yet this streak.
    Definitely feel foggy headed, almost like I'm in a dream.
    It's alright.
    Glad to be in this group. Reminds me to be a good team member and leader.

    The task is simple. Stay away from porn and masturbation.
    Really, everything else is okay.
    I will stay clean.

    Day 21.

  3. You’ve got this. You’ll be so glad that you stayed strong.

    Just because it is simple, doesn’t mean it is easy. Especially at the stage you are at right now. You’re doing great!

    Meanwhile, I’m on day 47, and I’m too busy for PMO. Which is a dangerous situation, because of the stress, but I’m also thinking I’m in the process of resetting, which is nice. But it will only happen if I keep on top of it. Always be ready to keep the PMO wolves from the door.

    Thanks @Jefe Rojo, yes I have similar feelings of disgusted. It brings me so much pain it needs to be destroyed. There is no putting away in a box, or keep it downstairs away from my room. That wouldn't work for me. I feel free today

  7. I feel you man. Spent a whole day jerking off to porn all because something I saw kept nagging at my addict to get that x rated version and take a hit... feel the rush.

    The next day, my balls ached, I was so angry and irritated by everything and everyone. Just a monster of a person. I could see myself though....aware of the difference from acting out and peacefully abiding by my own intentions.

    Go back to living by your intentions.

  10. Day 19. I try to keep myself as busy as possible, not stay at home unless i have something particular to do.Since I started coming to this forum, I have completed some important tasks that i have been putting off for a long time.
    I now firmly believe that having support mechanisms (this forum) will create a difference in my battle against this addiction. I am so thankful to all of you for being here for me.

  11. Thanks guys.
    I did make it through. And am very glad I did.

    Stay in there.

    Day 22

    Day 21, three weeks:

    In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
    Between the crosses, row on row,
    That mark or place; and in the sky
    The larks still bravely singing, fly
    Scarce heard amid the guns below.

    We are the Dead. Short days ago
    We lived, felt daw, saw sunset glow
    Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
    In Flanders fields

    Take up our quarrel with the foe:
    To you from failing hands we throw
    The Torch; be yours to hold it high.
    If ye break faith with us who die
    We shall not sleep, though poppoies grow
    In Flanders fields.

    -John McCrae (1915, Europe)

    Heaven is not reached at a single bound;
    But we build the ladder by which we rise
    From the lowly earth, to the vaulted skies,
    And we mount to its summit round by round.

    I count this thing to be grandly true:
    That a noble deed is a step toward God,
    Lifting the soul from the common clod
    To a purer air and a broader view.

    We rise by the things that are under feet;
    By what we have mastered of good and gain;
    By the pride deposed and the passion slain,
    And the vanquished ills that we hourly meet.

    We hope, we aspire, we resolve, we trust,
    When the morning calls us to life and light,
    But our hearts grow weary, and, ere the night,
    Our lives are trailing the sordid dust.

    We hope, we resolve, we aspire, we pray,
    And we think that we mount the air on wings
    Beyond the recall of sensual things,
    While our feet still cling to the heavy clay.

    Wings for the angels, but feet for men!
    We may borrow the wings to find the way —
    We may hope, and resolve, and aspire, and pray;
    But our feet must rise, or we fall again.

    Only in dreams is a ladder thrown
    From the weary earth to the sapphire walls;
    But the dreams depart, and the vision falls,
    And the sleeper wakes on his pillow of stone.

    Heaven is not reached at a single bound;
    But we build the ladder by which we rise
    From the lowly earth, to the vaulted skies,
    And we mount to its summit, round by round.

    Congratulations to everyone finding success right now.

    To everyone still struggling (myself included) let's take a moment to refocus on why we are here. Did you know that 80% of New Year's resolutions fail?

    Newton's law explains why: "An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion"

    We're here to propel ourselves into 2021 so we don't have to make a resolution instead we are making a continuation.

  16. Relapsed again yesterday! This weekly relapse cycle is really starting to get to me. I'm rather worried that I'll never be rid of this addiction. However, I'm back on my feet, trying again!

  17. Where do you think you went wrong this last time? What behaviors could you avoid to keep yourself from succumbing again?
