Hi everyone, nice to meet you all. I need to apologize for my poor English first, I am not a native English speaker. I am very excited to join in the NoFap community.

I am a 31 year-old male currently in university. I am married, but I cannot meet my wife often (we live in different cities). I’ve been using porn since I was 13. I suffer from depression and anxiety.

The reason why I try to quit porn is that I think it may pose a threat to my marriage. Second, I am now undergoing a teacher-training. I want to quit porn before i become a teacher for fear that porn-addiction jeopardize my career. Moreover, porn-addiction makes me suffer: Nobody knows I have heavy porn addiction. Every time I used porn, I felt I was so dirty and I did not deserve to live.

It is day 0 for me. My aim is to reboot through abstaining from PMO. I will start with a 30-day challenge. Hope I can make it through.

I hope I can be supportive to someone, too.

Welcome to NoFap! Glad you're here.

It absolutely is a threat to your marriage. It's great that you want to get rid of this addiction. Being free will make you a better husband in every way. Staying in the addiction will crush your wife, she will feel pain and betrayal. Not things you want to keep in your marriage.

It can jeopardize your career as well. You're thinking ahead which is really great! I know people that have lost their jobs because of their addiction to porn and it threw their life into a crazy spiral. The amount of stress that would cause is scary. You can defeat it and you'll never have to have that anxiety!

If you've been doing this since you were 13, I'd recommend finding a counselor/therapist that is able to talk about sexual and pornography addiction. That's a long time to be using porn (I'm in the same boat btw, 31, using since 13) and it can really cause damage. I'm still uncovering things that I didn't even know about myself.

Good luck man! There are tons of good resources on this site and in my signature as well if you are interested. The good news is you can heal from this and live a life free from porn. It won't be easy, it's a hard fight, but it's worth it. Your wife will appreciate your willingness to get over this as well. I'm proud of you for coming here!
