Memory and Bad concentration

    I have an awful memory when it comes to things like remembering what I read in a paragraph or remembering characters names in a movie or TV show and athletes names and what teams they play for and stuff like that. My attention is that of a fish. I'm making this thread to see if anyone else suffers from this. I know that over masturbation can affect your memory and attention but I am trying to see if anyone has it as bad as me. My attention and memory problems started when I was about 12 years old(The time I started masturbating. I am now 20) I don't know if it's caused by masturbating or not but I have tried a ton of different ADD medicines and none of them help. Things like adderall and vyvanse. This affects my life because I suck at school because I can't remember what I learn. Did/Does anyone else have trouble remembering what they read or watch or hear? And if so did you find anything that helps and do you think it's from over masturbating?

    Do you masturbate to porn? i didn't notice any such difficulties until during my late studier(i was watching porn more frequently then).

    My consentration ability is at best after the first orgasm(after some nofap period) and it is a disaster now on nofap.

  3. Too much masturbation definitely messes up memory and causes huge amounts of brain fog. Almost all of us here as men have experienced this. Some more than others. I can almost guarantee that PMO is the main reason you are struggling with this. As you gain better streaks, memory will improve, without a doubt.

    Also look up foods that improve memory. There are amazing foods out there that can help. I believe blackberries are one of them. You don't even need meds. There are natural fruits and veg that can help with this, and then obviously nofap as well. There many things at your disposal, you just need to use them.

  6. I'd say anything past 7 days is a good enough streak to start seeing some benefits, including memory, but it gets better the further you go.

    I'm almost at 7 days :) but im not really seeing anything so far...

    I see that youre almost at 7 days too.. does that mean that your memory and concentration aren't that good?

  8. What we have to remember is that everyone's flow of energy is different and we all utilise our energy differently, whether knowingly or unknowingly.

    Different benefits kick in for different people at different points along the way, due to their lifestyle, emotions, core beliefs (not talking about religion) and a number of different things.

    I usually start to get a clearer mind around day 5. My memory has never been too bad to begin with. From my experience, I start to feel like a beast just a little after day 7, where I start to feel like I no longer care what anyone thinks of me etc... I become more bold around this time, more confident, more outspoken etc...

    My concentration starts to pick up around day 5 as well, but it's been a long while since I've done anything beyond day 8, so will continue to update you and anyone else as I go on further.

    The further I get, I just feel like I am becoming more one with myself, if you get what I mean.

    Nofap is like reversing time. Remember how you were before ever watching porn? (For some of us it's hard to think that far), but we were so fucking pure. That is the space I want to get to again. I'm using nofap to literally reverse time to go back to my default self, and that is exactly what nofap can do. It's very powerful when you think about it all properly.

    l don't know it was because of excessive masturbation .. I have the same issue during my reboot .brain fog & lack of concentration .I considered it as withdrawal symptoms .. because I was a PMO addict for a long time .But currently it is not a big issue . As the time goes you will be healed

    I personally noticed improvements after quitting just porn(not masturbation). For heavy porn users i guess just quitting porn isn't really an option since the 2 is very linked together.

    I have experienced having a very bad short term memory and terrible concentration. I believe it was caused by PMO as well as very poor sleep and stress. If you are working too hard, are very stressed out and not taking time for yourself but always on the go your memory will decline. This lifestyle also reinforces need for escape e.g.. PMO. If you can change your lifestyle (a different less stressful job maybe?) you will see a lot of improvement (I did).

    I also think after PMO I am left with a very bad memory for a day or two. However strangely enough I don't experience it after having real sex.

    Also, part of what makes your memory strong is how often you use it. If all you do at night is click on new video after new video looking for a better high than the last, you are not using your memory in any way. You are training your brain to be hugely inneficient for everyday life and are essentially programming it to be unable to focus for longer than a minute.

    Spend more time away from the computer and it will help your attention span. Play games that challenge your mind and memory daily and you will see significant improvements. Get away from intense stress, it is very unhealthy in the long run. Get proper sleep (which is usually linked to stress levels). Eat healthy (keep away from caffeine and sugar -use a cold shower for energy it is way more effective) and exercise.

    I am starting to eat healthier by eating less junk food and a lot more fruit. Quick question, say I start to see an improvement in my attention and memory after like 2 weeks(Currently at 6 days) and then I relapse. Will my memory and attention go back to being shit?

    No, after one relapse you do not lose all of your progress. However a lot of people who relapse have a tendency to binge on PMO hard because they haven't had it for a while. Since you do not lose all of your progress on one relapse your mind has the argument "Was PMO really that bad for me? I just PMO'd and I feel fine and it felt great." Thats when you binge and you're right back where you started.

    But i'd like to add PMO isn't the sole factor for your memory and concentration decline. If instead of watching porn you are watching a bunch of junk tv/youtube (not educational stuff), you will not be stimulating your memory and it will continue to decline. Memory issues are complex and can be linked to many of the issues I mentioned in my earlier post.
     
  15. It doesn't mean that your memory will instantly go back to being shit, but it will start to decline, just like many others things start to when engaging with PMO. The more you PMO binge, the greater that decline will be noticeable.

    How long do I need to go before seeing improvements? I know that I MO'd yesterday :( but I have DEFINITELY decreased how much I do it. I went from multiple times a day to 1-2 times per week. But as you can see I haven't watched P in 12 days which is good for me

    I'd say it's probably a combination of something else and PMO addiction. Quit your habit and if it persists see someone about it...or better yet see someone about both!

    I've already seen multiple doctors about it and they can't seem to find anything wrong. They've prescribed me to a bunch of different medicines that don't help
