    Hey everyone!

Who has opened up to their friends about NoFap, and what have been their reactions?

There seems to be a lot more talk about masturbation between my friends recently (or I am just noticing it a bit more), and I have been tempted to speak up about me abstaining and being a Fapstronaut.
On the weekend in particular, I was drinking with some friends (guys and girls) and the statement about "anyone who says they don't masturbate are lying" was being said and I was tempted to say something but in the end decided to just bite my tongue and be quiet about the whole situation.

So just wondering about people's experiences of opening up to their friends about their whole ordeal, and being a Fapstronaut. Also your reasons for opening up to friends or family.

I am really interested. I feel my friends could go either way about it all.

    Cheers everyone!

You should absolutely brag about that shit. That would have been the perfect time to set an example for friends and make them think twice about whether they want fapping in their life.

You don't even have to talk about addiction but just saying 'i don't masturbate' I bet you'll feel proud

Lately I told a younger friend of mine about my "NoFap-journey" (which just has begun). He appreciated my efforts but he seemed mainly happy about the opportunity to speak open about porn. So he told me about some porn stuff he was in and how often... and such. I could scrape through the triggers (do you say so?).
Also he has asked his new girlfriend about her porn consumption. She used to watch "vanilla" and so they watched porn together. My friend showed her some of his fetish which she found disgusting.

My point is that I don't liked his kind of openness!

Then I met an older and much more mature friend of mine. I told him some of my troubles but left out the sexual part. It doesn't feel good. I concealed a very important part of my life. Something which is really troubling me but also where I had some success recently.

    Wow, dude! That seems intense..
I feel that if I told them a couple of them would be understanding, but most of them would just be like "bullshit" "why the fuck would you want to" "thats stupid" ect.. and it's not that I would get demotivated or anything but I also feel I wouldn't get nothing out of it as well..

I'll do it like Skydoge: first get my own shit together. And after a certain time period I can ... become a not using porn-activist :D

I haven't, but I'd love to be able to. The trouble is that none of my friends ever talk about masturbation at all. If the topic ever came up (which is not likely), I'd probably mention my NoFap journey. As it is, most of my friends are married, and those who aren't are much younger than I--so it would be very awkward for me to bring up masturbation right out of the blue.

Ive got this, as for your recent situation, you missed your golden opportunity. You say that your friends do mention masturbation, so be prepared the next time to chime in with your story. Perhaps you could begin with "Have any of you every heard of NoFap?" They might be dismissive at first, but as soon as they understand and realize that you're serious, they'll be like, "Dude, that's amazing! I'm in awe of your strength!" I mean, who among us has not tried to quit and failed at some time(s) in our lives? One thing though: I wouldn't discuss this in a mixed-gender group, because the guys won't really open up about their feelings (and possible addictions) with women present.
