    Hi folks,

You know what it's like when you're in the heat of the moment... Browsing internet/youtube/whatever... Step by step, little by little seeking and sneaking into more provoking material and keywords... Peaking a bit...

The best advice is of course to avoid that "noodling" alltogether, build healthy habits etc. BUT, if the sh*t happens and you find yourself there...

How do you guys and gals pull yourself out of that "just before the relapse"-moment and trance?

What do you DO? Concrete tricks, methods, tools... Please share your box of tricks!! :)

Yes, avoiding the triggers and "arousing habits" altogether is of course the best advice. Building new habits, improved lifestyle etc. is obviously the ultimate solution.

    BUT in the meantime...

Sometimes you fail, and find yourself in that possessed, zombie-like trance, where you just dig the hole deeper although you know what will happen...

How do you guys "break the spell"? How do you guys pull yourselves out of that trance, that heat?

I have this far three tricks under my sleeve, but the more tools we have the easier the fight will be...

So everybody, please share your tools!!

    Mine are:
-I'll throw that damn phone away
-Throw your dong into cold water
-I shake my head and upper body like a dog when it crowls out of water. Sounds silly but have worked. :)

Are you willing to do some regular training so you have the wiring ready to go when it happens? I'm not sure if anything will work if you don't do some kind of exercise so your system is ready then, and with the regular work you're probably less likely to have these episodes too.

Could you educate me more on this, please? What is "regular training"?
Would you have some good link etc. where one could study the subject more thoroughly? :)

I've never heard the term, maybe 'cause I'm not a native English speaker...

I don't mean any specific kind of exercise, I mean just the practice of doing something regularly so you get good at it. It could be as easy as taking regular breaks from the computer/device you are on - if you are able to do that. Or physical exercise. For example if you get up from sitting every 20 minutes and take a little break, you will be more likely to do that when you have an urge. And if you are a physically active person that exercises, even if it's just taking walks regularly, you are more likely to get up and get out of the house when an urge hits. Personally I'm doing this breathing exercise since the breath is always available, we breathe all the time.

The main point is if you don't do something all the time then when you need the support you're less likely to use it and even if you do you're not going to be as good at it as if you do it every day.
