It's more easier for me to quit watching porn than quit masturbaiting. I'm on day five of not watching porn and day zero of not masturbaiting.

I see. What kinds of benefits did you notice during your 16 month hardmode streak? Did you feel any better?

This thread was an eye-opener to me. I didn't at all expect porn to have such a negative impact on ones health and lead to such devastating health issues. It's very scary! A family member died from a deadly disease in the parkinson spectrum recently. I looked it up, and man... It was terrible to see that a probable main cause of that disease is the lack of dopamine levels and degradation of the frontal lobes... Could this stuff be related ???

I'm on my day # 3 atm and I very much plan to enjoy life without that PMO crap in my life !!!

  4. @aliggg You asked me to reply to your post. I think others have said it well: To get the benefits of a brain that is not on PMO, you must quit PMO. Only then will you fully realize a mind (and body!) at peace.

As for supplements, I have no input. I do not take them, other than magnesium citrate before bed to help with regularity.

I wish you all the best! This may be the most difficult fight of our lives, but the benefits to winning it are tremendous!

I have been through everything u listed suprisingly i started pmo at age 15 and now im 30. Its safe to say we are the same.

I agreed with what others said go 100 days monk mode and eat a healthy diet.

Just wana add something to the list.
    - strictly no fantasizing
    - meditate and practice yoga
    - cold showers
    - chew your food properly
    - take care of your gut health
    - eat only half of the normal portion u ate each meal
    - dopamine detox (electronic device only)
    - talk to people more
    - reserve some energy everyday (its easier to succumb to your addiction when u are tired)

Im not completely out of this shit yet and been through many relapses but i felt much better compare to day 1.

Thank you for ur reply, yes, i start 100% pmo free since i post this, and i do feel better after 1 month now, I just have no courage and gut to quit porn 100% b4, but i just realize my life is sucks now, i cant even enjoy the normal life. so i must quit this thing this time.

And i also did some research about why there is health related problem.
here is what i come up with.

I think everything start from the brain, basically the pmo damage your brain over time, and then your neurotransmitter start to mess up, which result a long time stress to your body, eventually ruin your sleep and digestion, thats how every weird symptom start.

The thing you mention like:cold shower, dopamine detox, talking to others, yoga, these things really help you to repair your brain, i feel confident we can cure and get back to normal this year!

Aside from the practice you mention, I recommend L-glutamine to heal your gut, and l-tyrosine, rhodiola, glycine to repair your brain.

  7. L-glutamine was a big help to me, too. I have since stopped taking that and take magnesium citrate instead. It has a similar effect. Sounds like you are doing great!

Yes, I mean turning 32 this autumn, hopefully i can back to normal at that time
Another thing to mention, Despite i start pmo free since last 10 years, but I was edging with porn all the time without bust, and i just realize thats even worse than fapping, because you constantly stimulate your brain...

  9. This is true. Edging is a terrible practice. You do well to give it up!

  11. I will give you my two cents, most of what you have mentioned(actually all of them) seem to be related to PMO. As a person indulges for years and years he will reach a state of physical and mental problems. I have faced a number of the symptoms you mentioned. The more you relapse the worse they will get. Moderation is not the solution. If you want to understand more about your symptoms deeply I highly recommend you to read the Chinese book "Rebooting as the best remedy". Most of the members here won't understand what you are talking about because they have not reached the amount of time of indulgence you reached, also the person's lifestyle and health constitution differ. The ones who say "There are no known symptoms to doctors related to PMO" forgot that Masturbation is considered unharmful and actually some doctors consider it a healthy behavior. In short you need to stop PMO for at least a year, and then approach a healthy relationship. Combine your recovery with a healthy routine in terms of food and exercises, avoid bad habits that make you stressed throughout the day as sleeping late and stay active.

    Good luck

Thank you so much, myself is a Chinese, i am so shameful to tell you that back in 2011 or 2012, i already start reading this book"Rebooting as the best remedy" which the author just started to post in chinese website on regularly basis, and thats the time which the whole global just to start the action of nofap, and realize the damage from pmo.

As one of the most early NoFap participate, i failed so many times, I keep edging, pmo, give myself excuse all the way until 2021, until things just cant go any worse. From a 20 year old kid all the way to a 30 years old man.

This time i got to quit this shit man. The addiction and harmful is so intense, hope everyone can quit pmo at the very beginning stage, plz dont act like me, spend 10 years in hell, mess up relationship, mess up job etc.

  16. Symptoms alleviate but not disappear totally. All the symptoms you read about PAWS and more... I was so low that I had to quit a job, lay on the bed a year straight, couldn't handle stress from life, couldn't stand for even 30 minutes without being tired..... I think I have paws along with sexual exhaustion.

  17. I wished I was cured within that time of frame. I've had paws along with sexual exhaustion. Within that period of time, my symptoms duplicate due to kindling and edging. From a severe former pmo addict perspective, 2 to 3 years hardmode are required for a full reboot.

Thanks, i think all of them is caused by your brain at very root cause, once your brain is damage(your serotonin, and nerve system, dopamine, etc.. and then you will have adrenal, digestive, sleep problem etc.. and thats how everything started, did you take anything to help to cure?? like glutamine, enzyme, etc..
