From what you're saying it sounds like you were hoping for a quick fix to a deeper problem. Have you talked with a doctor about your depression? You might find it helpful to start some talk therapy and/or medication. If you regret your decision to resign from your career then you might be able to talk with your boss and let them know you're getting help. I hope you feel better.

Don't be disappointed man, you had an awesome streak this time. Now set your sights for this streak even higher!!

I had a discussion with my boss on this and he agreed to help me come up with a plan for next 6 months considering my expectations as well as other learning priorities, so at least I don't have to retire doing the same boring activities. My HR Manager had some similar stories, and he made a career move (from technical support to Management) by taking sabbatical and getting his MBA degree and then doing what he is enjoying now. I am happy they understood my situation, and told that they would help me plan my career and switch to better projects. So for now, I will take my resignation back.
