Day 67, it's been literally a week since I started feeling like shit, literally.

No will to study, some constant brain fog (not like the one you feel when on PMO habits)

I still go to the gym but still feel not so energized by it.
    Sometimes I fail reps.

Also, I am feeling like crap, even if I hadn't had any wet dream or watched porn.

Like I still get morning woods, but still, feel like I recently relapsed.

Funny how, even after two years in this world, I still cannot tell if I am into a flatline or not.

Maybe the fact that I still went to the gym this week countered the dramatic effect of the flatline, making me feel just a little offset.

A week ago I was all into studying and I was full of energy and feeling happy.
Now I feel somehow sad, moody and I am not studying at all.

I just don't want it to be normality, I can't be in this situation any longer.
That's even something that goes way longer than discipline and willpower.

From what I know, when on flatline your dopamine receptors start to rewire and you just don't enjoy anything at all.

I seek help from veterans here, @modern milarepa have you got any clues?

It sounds you are overtrained. Take some days off the gym. Relax.

Then go back at training everything will be fine.

Also chill some days on bulking, overeating takes away a lot of energy from you

So you both think it's not a flatline?
I felt this way a lot of times and they always flatlined, just slightly different from now.

I already take a rest day every workout I do, so I rest enough.

Let's see how will I feel in a few days.

More like taking rest several days in a row . Your central nervous system needs a full rest. Failing reps and all you mentioned is overtraining symptoms.

Semen retention as you have mentioned you've done it doesn't cause this.

If you don't stop you may even get sick like a cold or something like it. And the food you eat is too much even if it's healthy food.

I am failing reps cause my PT is making me upgrade the weights real fast.

I personally don't eat that much, this week my PT is even going to add some more food.

So I think it's a flatline, it would be so strange otherwise, I trained at home multiple times a week for months.
I trust your gym knowledge anyways, @modern milarepa , I will talk about that with the personal trainer, even though he doesn't know about NoFap.

@Beekind do you know other symptoms of flatlines? Like mental fog and no motivation to concentrate and study, wanting to be lazy and unproductive aren't so linked to the gym, right?

I know it very very well.
It starts around day 12 and it keeps coming on and off.
    It is perfectly normal.
The brain was using pleasure to self regulate. You have removed it, so it will take tge brain some time to adjust and lower your enjoyment threshold.

Regarding not having the will/motivation, constant brain fog etc.. It usually is flatline since your brain is going through stuff, it's actually a good sign if you ask me. In the other hand it's the stage where alot of people fail and relapse, your mind is tricky - don't let it beat you.

Regarding gym performance, I really don't know what to say about that.

Most important thing is that you don't quit, if you didn't fap you didn't fap. It's all temporary.

I am firmly discipline about flatlines.
Never relapsed during them, got nothing to prove to me about my diddling diddle.

And I am even happy when they happen, after a flatline, I feel better than ever, and all the benefits just rise up.

But at the same time now I feel like shit and would like to be able to study for my exams, I feel like an asshole, for real.

I think that's the hard price to pay for a bigger life.
Some people live in a flatline for most of their lives, I decided to have it for some days only.

Might be flatline but why would that worry you?

Flatline is a sign od progress and it makes it easier for you to avoid sex thoughts and other stupid shit.

Might be a flatline, use it to your advantage, if your brain is rewiring and making new neural pathways, maybe you can use that to your advantage?

    Just my 2 cents.

Now I feel better, way more productive.
I read 50 pages of a book this morning, and plan to study and work out.
It seems this phase just passed, we'll see.

Yeah hopefully it ended and I can concentrate again.
A handicap is never a positive thing.

But I love flatlines, I just know that I am rewiring my brain.
    It's all positive.

  17. I don't know much about flatlines (I have experienced them a couple of times as far as I know) but I always try to see if there is something else than the addiction that is affecting me. Sometimes brain fog is just ... brain fog (too much tv, an exceptional hot day, bad nutrition, a stressful meeting...) and the same with lack of energy, focus and motivation - sometimes there are worries that come in that moment. For me the important thing (in flatlines or not) is to be aware, or try to be aware: of the lack of motivation, the restlessness, or whatever is going on with me. Then take a deep breath and go on.
Happy to know that yours ended.

What is the meaning of flatline.?

  19. From the glossary:
    https://nofap.com/glossary/
    • Flatlining: Many NoFap® users report one or more periods of zero libido during their streak, especially in the 2-6 week period. Transitioning from an overexcited, always-eager libido to none at all can be disconcerting and even scary for the experienced masturbator, but many Fapstronauts report that it is only a phase in the reboot and will pass.
    --
Some people have reported a duration of several months with no libido.
The scary part is the idea that you don't have a sex life anymore. It's over. It's like jumping over a cliff and not knowing if the parachute will open, or even if you have a parachute at all! (spoiler alert: we don't need it). You are moving from forcing the stimulation, in a state when you are forcing endless PMO sequences, in which sexual desire does not play a role anymore, to a different state in which sexual desire comes naturally, from real life stimulus. Your body is not used anymore to real life stimulus and therefore it does not respond to them, hence the lack of libido.
