I wish porn was banned or restricted

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Deleted Account, Jul 15, 2021.

  1. I’m so addicted to porn. I can’t stop watching it. Even when I go on a streak, I always get these horny urges and it’s so easy to relieve them with porn. But when you watch porn, you feel terrible about yourself because your watching a bunch of people have a sex life but your not getting much or any sex at all in real life.

Now there is this complication of porn-induced erectile dysfunction. Even being a young person, I don’t even know if I will perform well for my future partner.

I wish porn was banned or restricted.

  2. It is a difficult one. I am of the opinion that people should be able to do what they want (within reason) but an interesting issue with porn vs most other addictions is how you can essentially acquire or view endless amounts for free. Alcohol, drugs etc at least have a cost barrier, and usually a need to physically go get them. Porn addiction, I believe, comes with several further challenges such as a lack of government help for suffers, lack of acknowledgement, social stigma etc. You could possibly say that most other addictions can be viewed by others - porn addiction – not so much. I think most of us probably suffer totally alone with no offers of help from anyone.

If you’re struggling and you’ve tried going cold turkey, consider trying to ween yourself off of it. It is really working for me. I have downloaded a phone app (Quitzilla) and added Porn (hardcore), Porn (soft, ludes etc) and masturbation as three things I am trying to quit. Hardcore I have stopped dead, soft I allowed myself initially to help to give my brain some stimulation but to move on from the worst images in my head. Masturbation I have gone from 1 day, to 2, to 3, to 5 etc. Whatever you do, don’t worry, do something and learn to understand what works/doesn’t work for you.

  3. I agree with you so much, mate. I am almost jealous of men from the past who did not have to live with this complication in their lives.

At the very least, all these free porn tube sites should be legally required to implement an age-verification system so minors can't access it. I have a feeling that they want adolescents and teenagers to access it so they will have more future addicts.

  5. That’s the thing about it. They don’t care that kids and teens watch porn when they shouldn’t, they just want the money and the views.

  6. I'm not sure if I'll ever support a total ban on porn, but I do believe that it needs to be heavily, heavily regulated.

But if it were restricted and regulated at the very least, then it would prevent adolescents and teenagers from falling into the same trap that we did. It's ridiculous that impressionable minors with developing brains have quick and easy access to one of the most addictive drugs that has ever existed.

  9. It would really be a wonder depending on what hard it was to find, for example when we feel that something is wrong we often feel like doing it simply by being "forbidden"

  10. Porn is never going to be banned. Porn is like alcohol in terms of how socially acceptable it is.

But porn definitely should be heavily regulated because of how much societal harm it causes. For example, human trafficking, objectification towards women, pedophilia etc.

  11. Maybe or maybe not. I could go about my day and pretend porn doesn’t exist. But nothing can stop me from relapsing when my drug of choice is free, and only a few clicks away with unlimited content and no limits.

Of course, NoFap right now is the solution to my porn addiction problem.

First ban that shit and you'll have lots of people not able to use that bullshit.

I don't understand you lot when you say "it won't solve your problems, blablabla": Bullshit, it will solve a lot of problems around the world. Millions of people are being brain-fucked right now due to this demon that is free to everyone to use.

  13. Cocaine is not free, yet addicts find ways to feed their addiction. If porn was banned tomorrow, I guarantee you will find a way to access it sooner rather than later. Also the vast majority of the population doesn't have porn issues. The number of people using this site are very very low compared to the rest of the population.

Lmao "Also the vast majority of the population doesn't have porn issues". You are so clueless. Everyone using porn have effects going on in their brain, everyone. They just don't know it. Like me, I didn't know it was making effects on my brain when I was using it thinking it was just an alternative to sex.

Millions of people out there are getting their brain fucked right now. The number of people using NoFap is not high because we are the ones who realised that porn is destroying our life. Many out there don't know that they are getting their life silently destroyed, that's why they aren't visiting NoFap.

  15. Porn is one small part of the issues going on in my life. I think most of us like to blame it as the root cause, when it's merely a symptom of something much deeper.

But since this is an internet interaction, I won't waste much time and energy typing a long ass paragraph on what I think lies behind my issues at least (everyone is different so everyone's root causes are going to be different too).

You are free to blame whatever you want to. :) As I am free to not do the same thing.

You don't get it, even if porn is not the main cause of someone's depression, it literally makes a person feel worse, because it wraps your brain. You should do some research on porn addiction.

Porn is really a huge issue in today's society, it literally fucks up the brain and if you want to stay clueless about it, don't spread your ignorance to recovery addicts in here who are battling this demon.

  17. And would it help them in any way, when they realise that getting rid of porn, without dealing with everything else they are only going to spin their wheels and end up back where they started?

Why is it a bad thing to tell people that stopping PMO won't magically solve their life, and they need to solve other stuff too?
It's you who doesn't see the whole picture. But don't waste your time getting passive aggressive over me. You'll sooner or later realise your folly, so no need to break a sweat.

You still don't get it, do you? PORN FUCKING FUCKS UP THE BRAIN OF PEOPLE. Something needs to be made to get that shit off the internet. You getting passive over this stuff, saying it won't magically solve your problems is a sign of you being totally clueless about the matter.

If someone has deeper problems, they'll resolve them but first get rid of that shit that is called: porn addiction.

    Got it now?

  19. Negative.
Yeah, you are saying what I am saying, but only ten times shallower.

I get what you are saying: if someone was depressed or had anxiety or was nervous or had social problems before having a porn addiction, getting rid of the porn addiction won't solve all the previous problems they had, they will then have to work on their deeper problems. I get it, I understand english.

Now, do you understand what I'm saying? Yes, getting rid of porn addiction will not magically solve their social problems, because they have to work on themselves to fix that, but it will surely stop fucking up the brain of the person that got wrapped into. You get it? Huh?

That's why I'm saying, fuck porn, and I wish it was banned forever.
