Reading isn't for everyone. I love reading books so it comes easy to me. It is good to challenge yourself and read more than you normally would, but it doesn't do any good to force yourself to read a bunch either, if you don't enjoy it or aren't learning from it.

    UPDATE:
Finished Mr. Murder by Dean Koontz last night, twas an alright/decent novel. Not one of my favorites of his, not one of his worst.
Currently reading Overcomer by David Jeremiah which is a spiritual help / faith-centered book.
Also still going through and reading Goosebumps Series 2000

I think in general it is likely this is a result of low attention span and difficulty concentrating. There could be more specific issues of course but regardless I'd say it may help if you don't compare yourself or judge the speed at which you're reading the material. If it is something like Atomic Habits or Deep Work it may even work better by making notes as to practical exercises you can do instead of getting through it quickly, you may even get more out of it than someone who reads more because they may have forgotten most of it and it was just a nice experience with interesting info for them but you'd be using the tools.

I don't see a lot of goosebumps fans on here, nice. Great books.

Was this book any good? Conversationally Speaking is a great book if you want to increase conversational skills by the way, it contains very practical/effective tools which you can use to increase the quality of conversation.

I updated the list of books I read this year. Approaching 2022, I kind of think that I could have read more instead of wasting my time online. However, since the last few weeks I have been reading more and finished some books. I'm trying to limit my time online in order to pursue more valuable activities, like reading.

Just finished the second book in the Pittacus Lore series as well as Jennifer Government. I'm currently reading Lexicon. An incredible piece of science fiction and Life 3.0.

I didn't finish it, kind of hit a mental slump and other books became more relevant at that moment in time. I like to read books when I can actually apply them and right now I'm just not feeling too social anyways. I only read up to the beginning of part two but I liked it. It's not too long of a book so I might get back around to it and dive deeper into it.

So it's almost a year ago that I made this thread.

I hope you guys will reach your goals in 2022!

I updated my reading list of 2021 so it gives me an overview of the books I have read last year.

Could I have read more? Absolutely. But I'm satisfied nonetheless because I'm reading way more than before. Finding my dad's old Kindle in the house was truly a gamechanger.

I'm not going to make an extensive review now but I think Deep Work was great read. It has changed my perspective on productivity and time management. Sometimes it's a struggle to implement the principles but it has been very useful so far [in terms of working on my thesis and taking deliberate efforts on improving my focus and embracing boredom etc.].

I'm not going to make a new thread for 2022 so I have just added a new list to my original post for this year.
