Day 186 no PMO. I’m on a guys weekend at the lake so I didn’t get to bed last night until after 2am. It’s 6:15 now and I’m already up. Probably going to be a tough day. I don’t drink so I’m not hung over… just worried about having not slept very long.

    Day 13
The last 2-3 days have been the hardest ones on this streak so far. Cravings are quite present and make it difficult to sleep. I'm determent to keep on going though. My day is fully planed out and I'm looking forward to the weekend.
I had some sperm leaking today whilst taking a shit. Is that normal?

What is peaking? Do you mean peeking?

I have been edging, so I need to reset my counter to zero today. I was tempted to peek at some erotic porn substitutes. :( Instead I came here, because it showed up on my Habitica, a game I started recently to improve myself. At least I did not go right to p-subs.

Hi bro, it did elevate my mood! :) but that´s the thing, i didn´t feel more benefits than those the regular cold shower gives. so i think the ice bath gives more of a mental stamina, it helps you sharpen your mind even further, to withstand great stressors in life ;)

Yesterday was terrible. I was fishing again, but worse than that I really considered having a binge. The urges were terrible and my mind was plagued with thoughts.

Yet, I held on. I got out of the house and went to the nearby city and got some chores I needed to be done. Through all the lies, what kept me on the path was my current streak, my understanding that I would be very upset with myself if I did it, and a reminder of the future I wanted without PMO. I didn't click on anything I shouldn't, but boy do I have to stop that fishing!

School starts up next week. I'm very scared. I'll be very busy and under considerable stress and I don't want to go back to PMO but I know that's how I handled all my stress before. I need some good stress outlets that are healthy.

    I'm on day 12.

hang in there my brother. the first weeks are the hardest, you´re doing well. but you got to stop that fishing. dissect what are the circunstances in which you start fishing, and create a barrier for them.

example: say you start fishing at night, while in bed, with the mobile phone. so create a barrier for it: shut down your phone, put it off your room, and enjoy a good book before falling a sleep ;).

    analyse brother, and prevent ;)

as for stress, try meditation, it´s great to calm the body and the mind :). and do it on a daily basis. daily stress needs daily decompression ;)

    Checking in brave Warriors :)

Good day so far, went to the shopping mall with the family, enjoying my last days of vacations :D. no urges to report or temptations. feeling solid and in control :). Gonna keep following my plan for today, a nice workout, then a warm shower followed by a divine powerful cold shower :D ;). then i´m gonna practice my handwritting. at night i will enjoy a good movie. Life is sweet :)

Have a great day brave Fellowship!!! :). Love you all :)

Here´s an excellent passage from "Your brain on porn", page 43 ;)

"Ever heard of the Coolidge effect? It's a graphic example of how unrelentingly sexual novelty can drive behaviour. The effect shows up in mammals ranging from rams to rats, and here's how it works:

Drop a male rat into a cage with a receptive female rat. First, you see a frenzy of copulation. Then, progressively, the male tires of that particular female. Even if she wants more, he has had enough.

However, replace the original female with a fresh one, and the male immediately revives and gallantly struggles to fertilize her. You can repeat this process with fresh females until he is completely wiped out. Reproduction, after all, is genes' top priority. Just ask Australia's mouse-like
antechinus, which engages in such a furious mating frenzy that it destroys its own immune system and drops dead.

Obviously, human mating is generally more complex. For one thing we're among the peculiar 3 to 5 percent of mammals with the capacity for long-term bonds. Yet sexual novelty can enthral us too.

The Coolidge effect itself gets its name from US President Calvin Coolidge. He and his wife were touring a farm. While the president was elsewhere, the farmer proudly showed Mrs. Coolidge a rooster that could copulate with hens all day long, day after day. Mrs. Coolidge coyly suggested that the farmer tell that to Mr. Coolidge, which he did.

The president thought for a moment and then enquired,

    ‘With the same hen?’
    ‘No, sir,’ replied the farmer.
‘Tell that to Mrs. Coolidge,’ retorted the president.

An appreciation for a fine novel partner helps propel internet porn use. At its most fundamental level, this impulse is evolution's way of discouraging inbreeding and keeping the gene pool as fresh as possible. What powers the lure of novelty at the physical level? Dopamine.

Primitive circuits in the brain govern emotions, drives, impulses, and subconscious decisionmaking. They do their jobs so efficiently that evolution hasn't seen the need to change them much since before humans were human.

The desire and motivation to pursue sex arises from a neurochemical called dopamine. Dopamine amps up the centrepiece of a primitive part of the brain known as the reward circuitry. It’s where you experience cravings and pleasure and where you get addicted."

    Day 27!

"Curse him, root and branch! Many of those trees were my friends, creatures I had known from nut and acorn; many had voices of their own that are lost forever now. And there is a waste of stump and bramble where once there were singing groves. I have been idle. I have let things slip. It must stop!"
