Dude, what do you do to stay away from all that dirt picels? Do you have a strategy if urges came across?

I'm just a normal guy, if left alone in a room with a digital device in my hands, my brain will tell me to access P. For start, try to not get in the situation where you will be tempted. Spend time with friends, read books, limit screen time, spend time outside. Be mindful about when you are tempted and try to do something else. Do not trust your monkey brain, it will convince you to get in the relapse funnel.

"Be water", said the famous quote. The water doesn't need force to flow. It takes the easiest path. I don't believe in resisting urges. I'm weak, I can't resist urges. I just avoid to get in a situation where I know I might be tempted. It doesn't always work, but it's a starting point.

I believe it is almost impossible to get a perfect 90 days streak when you need only less than 1 minute to relapse. It's like in that "Thanks for sharing" movie about porn addiction. "It is like being a crack addict with your crack pipe always in your pocket." It is very hard. Don't count the days! Count the improvements.

I prefer to get to New Year's Eve, after 6 months on this journey, with 10 relapses and tons of improvements, than with hundreds of short "perfect" streaks, followed by binging multiple times, frustrated and thinking something is "wrong" with me.

I base my ideas on the "Atomic Habits" book, which helped me enormously and which I strongly recommend to anyone. It helped me think in the long run.

As I will write in a following post, I relapsed yesterday. Once, no P. I don't beat myself up, I don't feel guilty. I'm a human being with a monkey brain and I make mistakes sometimes. I won't reset my badge. This is the best strategy for me. I will continue and try to avoid getting in the relapse funnel. I know why it happened and try to avoid that, also. I'm continuously learning and becoming better every day.

Read my following posts, when I write them and keep going because you will get only good things from this journey!

    Day 42.

I relapsed once yesterday. Only once, no P. I'll write a post about this. No chaser effect until now. I'm healing.

I won't reset my badge. I'm still standing!

I didn't have any chaser effect. I think I'm on the right track.

I didn't write for a few days due to some log in error. I hope it doesn't happend again. If I don't reply, it is because of this. I didn't quit this beautiful journey.

This is very encouraging and thank you for posting! I feel alone in my journey (as I’m sure most of us do) so it’s assuring to come here and see all the positivity. I’m on Day 2. The world is too beautiful to be staring at a screen addicted to the depressing part of the world. Good job and keep it up!

This is great. I have the same "easy" approach now. Improving yourself just a little every day is the way
