FORGIVENESS! Is it the ultimate guide to defeating PORN?

Discussion in 'Self Improvement' started by Deleted Account, Oct 3, 2021.

  1. Okay I dont know who needs to here this right now but I am sure there are many of you who do. Its something we all struggle with every single day. FORGIVENESS. Have you truely forgiven those who have hurt you? Have you truely forgiven yourself for hurting you? Its a tough and sensitive topic so I am going to keep this short. I am going to ask this though.

If you are still struggling with relapsing etc ask yourself. Do you forgive? Keep in mind real forgiveness isnt excepting that it was okay that someone did something or that its totaly fine Im cool with it. You dont have to trust that person or be okay with it. Do you forgive? Just think about that everyday my friends. Best wishes.

Yeah with the shame and guilt hanging around after pmo, forgiveness is a decent remedy. Make peace with yourself before moving on

I forgive myself, but not necessarily others. Although nowadays i don't even beat myself up for slipping up so i don't even feel like there is much to forgive to begin with. Self compassion has become my default.

Yeah, I've heard this concept of forgiveness more times than I can count. But I just don't really resonate with the idea of holding onto negativity personally. I rarely think or feel much about the people who wrong me, I just acknowledged that they wronged me and I moved on with my life. I don't feel much of a benefit or drawback with forgiveness or lack of forgiveness, if others do more power to them. But i don't think forgiveness works if its just not something you care for. Forgiving people would actually give them even more time and energy in my case since I don't think about them 99% of the time.

Nah I don't really let stuff go cause I guess I was never too attached to it in the first place if that makes sense. I'm just indifferent to life in general I would say. Situations and people don't really make me feel much either way so thats probably why I just kinda move on from stuff and often forget what even happened in the first place.
