I'm 34 years old, been addicted to porn since 10 years old (more or less) as far as I can remember, it began when I found my parents magazine, not porn magazine but there are some pic in that magazine which began my addiction to porn. There are still hardly internet at that time, so my source are just old magazine, tv but it still hooked my up since childhood.
When I go to college, I moved to another town, have my own room, and internet connection, well it gets worse of course because I have privacy and unlimited source to outside world, I began searched any categories of porn, I fall on femdom fetish most and it goes on until I graduate, work, totally its been 20 something years, doing pmo on weekly average.
It goes on even until I'm in relationship, I still stand on no sex before marriage so it didn't really affect much on our relationship, we've been going our for 3 and half year, we got married last month, and honestly I'm confused when we're having sex, because the stimulant is so much different, from that I decided to stop PMO, I'm afraid that it will ruin our marriage.
So here I am, still 30++ days though without MO, sometimes when the urge come I still watch pic, vid shortly but still I've been able not to MO (my last streak was 26 days, that was few years ago), still struggling but at least I've experienced no energy deprivation after PMO, greatly increased my productivity.
This forum really helped me a lot, from success story (even from sad one), been with many people whom share more or less experience, help each other, There's this one thread that one fapstronaut issued PMO challenge on who can goes longer, which really motivated me, I've passed my 14 days challenge, and almost 21 days challenge hopefully I can go much longer without PMO

Reset after 38 days, still a big improvement, many years ago my longest streak was 26 days, gonna increase it gradually
Still watched P when I'm stressfull, get emotional, still looking a way to run away from reality even for awhile, pathetic...

Good stuff! Getting a nice day count and putting that energy into better things is great to hear!

I've had a similar timeline from 10yo to early 30s with this habit.

You may find slowly decreasing porn works better for you than what is normally popular (but also very challenging) to quit cold turkey. There's more to read about this method here which may help Can a porn addict wean off using porn over time? - NoFap

Alternatively, you could find avoiding porn altogether has greater benefits for you. Keep in mind, the withdrawal affects will probably be worse, at least at certain times.

The way you mentioned escaping reality is interesting too. Porn has to be one of the easiest ways to do that in this age, so don't feel bad that it's your method right now, literally millions do this knowingly or not!

You can however slowly start to be conscious of when you're stressed or feeling any uncomfortable emotions of thoughts, and either sit with them (to understand them better) or take action (to work on solving them).

Keep it going man, all the best!

Thanks for the reference, I've just surfed this forum without any fundamental theory, for the past years I just youtubed, read books about porn, addiction and M.
For MO I think I kinda get the hang of it, at least I'm not forcefully did it the last time, unlike before which I did it half—consciously. As for porn I will try not to succumb to it when I'm stressed and consciously avoided it when sees one,
    Self control......self control.......

Sounds good! Some of the fundamental theory can motivate us too. Understanding the brain changes that occur even if we just watch porn occasionally. And that it's arguably worse to just watch porn than to relapse with PMO for example.

It seems P is the worst element out of PMO. And stress is a major trigger for most I would assume!

Easier said than done. But when stressed - we can slowly try taking action in small ways, doing a task that will benefit us, instead of avoiding the uncomfortable feeling/thought with porn, or work, or video games, or any distraction really...

Simple equation, not easy, but it gets better with practice over time!
