Just curious as to what is the society normal for men 45+ and their manscaping.

Men who are 45+ what do you do for manscaping?

Women who are 45+, what do you prefer your man to do when it comes to manscaping?

  2. My opinion is who cares about societal norms, do what makes you happy. As a 50 year old male, I feel better when I keep everything neatly trimmed or shaved off. I hate the hair on my back and will shave it off completely. Chest and other areas, it'll depend, sometimes I shave it all of, sometimes i just trim it. I use a ManGroomer for my back, chest, and arms. Other more sensitive areas I will use a ManScaped Lawn Mower (names makes me chuckle).

  3. I'm not of that age, but I mostly just prefer my husband keep the downstairs trimmed a bit. Aside from that, I don't care. Men have hair. I wouldn't want him to remove his chest hair or anything like that.

Nothing. There's no need. Natural look to pubic hair is way better IMO.

Trimmed most likely. What does age matter . It's just good hygiene and from my experience shaved balls and gouche is better than a safari park

  6. Completely shaved is actually not better for hygiene. Or at least not for health. Hair is important for catching things and keeping them out of other areas. Like, we have eyebrows and eyelashes to protect our eyes. Just the same, pubic hair can protect (particularly women, for obvious reasons) your genitals from bacteria and other things. It's there for a reason. All you have to do is wash the hair to keep it clean.

You speak so much sense generally that you negate my need to post on most threads. :D But I just wanted to say how good it is to read an intelligent response to this topic. Apparently, when removing hair from the genital area it could cause tiny abrasions which can become infected. So this is an additional reason why letting pubic hair alone is more hygienic. :)

Most men shave their beards. Most women shave their legs. Are they also unhygienic and opening themselves up to catching an infection? This is dumb. If you don't like hair down there then shave it, if you don't care then keep the hair. I shave because to me it looks and feels gross, nothing worse than a hot summer's day and you have a bunch of sweaty pubes caught in your jeans.

  9. I could say the same to you. Lol

  10. That's not the same thing at all... your legs are just a flat plane of skin. There is no opening into areas that need to be protected, like a vagina. Shaving your legs isn't the same as pulling out your eyelashes either, which would lead to a lot of crap getting in your eyes. Your skin is also far, far less thin and sensitive on your legs than your genitals. And leg hair is also much less coarse and easier to more safely remove (I can't speak to beard hair, but I think beard hair is generally pretty coarse as well).

Any cut you have on your body *could* get infected, although I don't really think that's something to worry about that much. However, your genitals are probably more likely to have an issue in that department, because legs and beards aren't next to where you excrete pee and poop, and they are more exposed to air and less likely to fester bacteria.

Look, I have zero problem with people shaving whatever they want to shave. I'm just saying, I don't think it is as healthy or safe of a decision when it comes to hygiene, to shave your genitals. I'm not entirely sure if this is as true for men as it is for women, though, because vaginas are easy to get infected and get bacteria that throws off the ph balance and can cause some painful problems. Perhaps it's less risky for men, but I think it probably is still valuable to have some hair there.

  11. I had to look up what "manscaping" actually is. Seeing all those creepy advertisements, I knew enough.

I do literally nothing to "man scaping" myself.
It's 8 months ago I got my hear cut. Since covid I do it myself from time to time.
I don't care much what people think about me.
I'm almost a year free from porn, and the longer I stay away, the less important it is to scape something.

I'm more concerned about my food habits. Because I love my body more.
And when I take care of myself that way, the rest will follow. Hairy or not :D

  12. I shave to keep things hospitable, in case my wife ever changes her mind. Ever hopeful.

  14. What a load. I can't believe people are actually arguing here that shaving a body part can open you up to infection. I guess we'd better wrap ourselves in protective bubble wrap, since I've had gouges and cuts all over my body from various mishaps (none of which got infected, btw). I've shaven my pubes before. Nothing bad happened at all. Sometimes I do it, sometimes I don't.

I shaved my balls a handful of times as a twenty something - porn inspired, of course. I enkoyed it being smooth but it grew back stubbly and was a bit itchy to be honest.
I enjoy my leg and chest/stomach hair but my back is starting to get hairy too, which i am less fond of. The mangroomer looks interesting, do you get discomfort the day after shaving? Itchiness etc? I dont think im vain enough to go to a salon :p
