Accountability for All

  1. If you have trouble falling asleep then what you shouldn't be doing is PMOing , because you will start conditioning your body to need to PMO to fall asleep . Do you usually have sleep problems , or did this just happen due to the anxiety before exams?

The struggle is relatable. The chemical release that allows us to relax is easy for our brain to become adjusted to. Using this as a means to relax seems simple, but is similar to alcohol use. Some people use liquor to help them sleep, but this, in the end, results in longer, yet less restful sleep. Some other options may be sleep aids, like melatonin or a relaxing tea before bed, refraining from any caffinated drinks past noon and refraining from streneous activity an hour prior to trying to sleep. Once your in bed, maybe some relaxing music or white noise may help? Some people also impliment weighted blankets to combat stress/anxiety.

    Thanks for your advice

Maybe it's sleep problems because I always used pmo to fall asleep. I rarely felt anxious before. I guess I was using pmo to avoid anxiety

Yes, I prob got used to it to fall asleep. And now I have to deal with this properly. I normally finish work in the computer at night, maybe that is stressing me out. I'm going to leave that work for the next day. I'll try the tea and relaxing sound. I don't consume any caffeine fortunately. I try to avoid meds but melatonin could be a last resource. Thanks for your suggestions

Forgot to check in. Day 1

Melatonin is more a natural supplement that an medication.....I think it's actually classified as a dietary supplement oddly enough. Well, whatever helps you out! There are many choices, just do a bit of research and find one you think fits your lifestyle.

  6. Checkin in. Almost three weeks now. I have started to do some exercises and meditation again

Hey man, you are trying to improve your life, don't feel sad! You are great man. We all mess up in the way to achieve something. I also felt depressed when failling at stuff in school or uni but with time I'm learning to let things go and forgive myself. I remember not too long ago I wanted to drop out because I failed a single exam. I had go forgive myself and decided to try harder next time. Actually worked

  11. Checkin. Was triggered twice yesterday while surfing through the internet. I couldn't sleep for almost half the night with urges. I will stop messing myself and will not use internet throughout as much as I can.

I'm glad your are doing better!
And it's not that bad! Bro, no one can do a thing to you for watching them. Screw them, honestly. I also found myself staring randomly at people while thinking about stuff. It's unconcious. And even if you run into trouble, you can always apologize.
I don't know if this is good advice but it's what I think.
Hey, I hope you can do it!

    Hi everyone,
It's been two days trying to improve sleep and I'm kind of surprised that I'm not feeling anxious at night. I'm sleeping a bit less though, but I don't feel tired. Advice seems to be working, so let's see how it goes. Also completed three days this time, I'm going to try seven now.

    Have a nice day guys!

Checking in as well. Week 1 down for me. Not resting as well at night, but going to compensate for that by working out and burning that extra energy. Can't stay awake if I'm tired as the dickens!

Hey y'all! I'm a 25 yr old female with a delusional mind I guess. I'm actually on day 192 of no porn but tried to trick myself into thinking that's the same as no masturbation. Obviously I was wrong. I've made it so far with no porn that I want to do the same with my other addiction. I was reading the other posts on the thread and realized I only masturbate when I'm about to fall sleep. I'm not going to rely on my addiction to sleep but would love some accountability! So this is day 1 for me! Can't wait for this journey!
