It always amazes me that we somehow enjoy watching strangers having sex on a screen more than having actual sex with our loving partners.

What a horrible insult and embarrassment our partners must feel.

We owe it to them to overcome this tragedy.

M still amaze people chose porn over partner..how can't they get satisfaction from thr partner..

 

What the hell does that mean @matthewmammothrept? Schizophrenia is a mental health disorder and that has nothing to do with our sexuality. What treatment do you recommend for sexuality? Antipsychotic medications or hospitalization?

 

It's an analogy. As schizophrenia is to the mind, porn is to our sexualities.

So true. @JS3516 You let your addiction steal your family from you tonight. You allowed it to lie to you by telling you that you're not strong enough.

 

I think that for the vast majority of us, to say this is something we "chose" is a pretty dramatic oversimplification. To begin with, a lot of us developed our initial relationship with P and MO when we were quite young, certainly too young to be making a real, conscious, fully-informed choice about it. Plus, I believe there is a rather complex psychological underpinning to most of the unhealthy P/MO issues we're facing, having to do with anxiety, fear, depression, lack of confidence in our attachment with our partners, etc.

Now, we can certainly make choices that are designed to help us break free of this. Or choices that make it less likely that we will ever break free. But to be fair, I don't think too many of us "choose porn over partner".
