    Hi All,

Today is my 50th day of no PMO. I need to confess, it has never been easy. I never ever thought I will make it thus far because my brain got hooked up with masturbation not just for sexual pleasure but also for stress release and taking this drug away from me was and still is very difficult for me. 2.5 years ago I decided to quit this addiction and I was very sincere about it, but I failed and I wouldn't pass just few days before I would relapse again. My mistake has always been that I want to quit this addiction with my efforts and my will power which off course is a recipe for failure. I had to understand the concept of surrender. I accepted that I am powerless over masturbation and my brain likes orgasm ( Step#1 of 12-steps recovery program) then I believed and internalized it that only God can rescue me from it ( Step#2 of 12-steps) and then I submitted my will to the will of God ( Step#3 of 12 - steps ) . Even though I am completing 50 days, but things are not rosy, I must not be complacent, inner addict is like a sleeping tiger, it will charge at any moment. Today however, was the worst day of these 50 days, I had a huge and massive craving to lust and jerk off but had to constantly surrender. But cravings keep coming to me, I am so afraid I really don't want to go back to that life style where I would jerk off and then feel crappy and then do whatever I can to feel good about myself, I want organic life and I know PMO is suffocating. Please chime in and share some words of encouragement if you can.

Wishing peace and serenity to all of you!

Hey man, I'm very new here but 50 days is outstanding. Holy shit, be proud of that and if you can do 50 you can at least get to 51 or 52. Hang in there. It's been about 20 days since I last looked at porn or masturbated so I will be really happy if I can get to 50. But don't give in, you've come this far and you can keep going. What other things do you like to do? I personally like chilling out with some good music or taking a walk to get fresh air. If reading the Bible helps then go do that, so much good stuff and actual cool stuff in the bible. It's amazing how things from 2000 years ago are still influencing all of our lives. I love archeology too especially local stuff. Always cool to know about what was around before you were there. Keep going, don't give in, stay strong. You'll feel better on day 51!

Big congratulations, abutrustworthy! If you can do 50, you can do 100! And more! I have a question.

What are some of the delightful things you have hoped to accomplish in your life as a result of Nofap? Details, please. Inspire us all with your hopes that can come about as a result of continuing this streak ad infinitum.

  8. just think this worst day your having will make you weak. or it will make you strong. and the good news? it is YOUR choice. I would advise to not give in. you will feel 1000 times worse if you do give in. remember that.

Awesome Job! Keep up the fight you have the right mindset in succeeding!! STAY STRONG IN THE LORD!! Romans 8:39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

"Also, I would love to hear some encouragement myself. How in the heck have you gotten to 50 days?"
@Keaton: Sobriety simply means sincere work over a period of time , if we keep insisting on our old habits we will do nothing but delaying our own healing. That being said, mere abstinence is not going to work too good. We need to replace all bad habits with good ones and we need to keep track of our day. Three main things which helped me achieve this milestone in my recovery are ( taking sobriety a moment a time or a day a time , performing my self care rituals or taking care of my emotional, physiological and psychological needs , tracking my progress every day by using a paper calendar which I call as self care tracker. )

Yes, I am using my sexual energy in playing sports which works most of the time for me, I try to stay away from screens ( TV , laptop , Cell phone after 9:30pm at night ) . Yes, I do feel more energy flowing through my body, I have more hope to live my life. I am happier than before, I am excited about my future which I have never been before. I have a peace at my heart and sleep peacefully. These are some of the changes I have noticed so far, there are many more which might take longer to list them down.

@PotentLife: As I mentioned in my answer to previous comment I have more hope to live my life than ever before. I can now look woman with respect. I am very excited to have an organic natural relationship. I am very very excited to get married and be with my wife. I am actively looking to find the love of my life. This all wouldn't have been possible if I had kept watching felt or fantasizing about felt or jerking off. God is great who allowed me to witness this day in my life.

"Good job! You have a strong will!"
@FURPY: Sobriety and healing is not about will power it is about surrender. It is about accepting that I am powerless over lust. It is about finding spiritual cure for this physical problem that has afflicted me. It is about being humble to reach out for help. It is about being responsible and taking necessary actions. It is about respecting the boundaries that I have set for myself to stay clean and sober. It is about replacing all destructive habits ( eating junk foods, watching junk stuff , thinking junk , doing junky work , etc.. with good habits such as eating healthy meals, taking good care of myself, reading recovery related materials, reading books , staying away from online activities as much as possible, enjoying nature, making healthier habits, meeting and talking with people in real life , journaling my thoughts and sharing with my recovery circle etc.. ) Allah ( God ) is the source of guidance, healing and blessings for me.

So I have been struggling from prone masturbation and it happens 30 to 40 minutes after I go to bed at night. I wake up in a half conscious mode and then for some reason the rationale portion of my mind doesn't click very well and I fantasize and masturbate. So last night after completing 62 days of hard earned organic sobriety, I found myself again falling in to the same issue of prone masturbation. I know I didn't use visual stimulants , and I know it was not in 100% awake state, but since I had masturbated and orgasmed I will consider it as a relapse. I know it feels very depressing to know that I relapsed after to much of hard work, but God is great , I am sure he has something better planned for me.
