I have been addicted to internet porn at a very high level for several years now, but it goes back even longer. I'm a newby to this site, so any help appreciated. I have to crack this! My challenge is just seven days as a start. If I can make that, then I will go for 90. Does that sound realistic?

First of all, congratulations on taking this step! I don't care how long you were addicted or how guilt you might feel about it. You had the courage to admit that you wanted to change your life and you are beginning steps to do that. That is awesome!

Seven days sounds totally realistic, but then again, I don't know your situation or circumstances. We all have our own psychological baggage that we bring to the table.

My advice: Go ahead and try for 7 days, but recommit to your goal daily. In other words, don't focus on the seven days, focus on making a better decision now. Keep doing that and before you know it, seven days will have passed by.

Congratulations on conquering the moment! I'm rooting for you! I just completed my first two challenges, a 3-day and a 5-day. Now, I'm on to 14 days.

Is this Day 1 for you (Feel free not to disclose if you don't want to.)

Hey - I made it to day seven so I feel some kind of achievement! Now I just need to focus on getting to day 14, and then 30 days.
Step by step... I'm feeling confident about it, and while it's a challenge, not as hard for me as quitting smoking was.

Sounds like you're doing great so far! Congrats on hitting a big milestone. I want you to make it to the big milestones too so here's a couple pieces of advice...

If you haven't already, get an accountability partner, somebody close to you, and let them know about your struggle. Then check in with them regularly. This will help you tremendously with your recovery.

Put up barriers where you can to separate yourself from triggers. Internet filters, removing apps, avoiding certain shows/movies. The better your defenses, the less likely you are to relapse if you face a struggle.

Find a new hobby to keep yourself busy. We all know one of the biggest triggers for us is boredom and loneliness. Try to keep yourself busy.

Study up! Learn as much as you can. Learn about porns effects on your brain and find books to help you in your recovery.

The rest will fall into place. One last thing...if a relapse does occur, don't give up! Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get back on the wagon. Learn from your mistakes the best you can and keep fighting ;)

Congratulations! Celebrate that! As you go toward your next milestones, take it one day and one decision at a time.

Congratulations on taking the red pill! One thing I would like to strongly suggest to you is that you don't look at this NoFap thing as a challenge but look at it as a lifestyle. Don't shoot for a week, or 90 days, or even 120. Shoot for life! Understand and accept that you will be tempted along the way and you might even slip up now and then but do not look at it as a challenge that you can fail. If and when you do slip up don't tell yourself that you are going to start back up tomorrow or next Monday. The second you fall get back up and get back to it because this is who you are now.

You made the choice to go NoFap so as of right now, this very second you are someone who does not watch porn and who does not masturbate. A momentary laps in judgment isn't going to change that. If you get tempted or have a bad day don't beat yourself up, just remind yourself that you are not the kind of person who does that stuff and carry on.
