Why Do I Fail Less When I Have Saved Vids?

Does anyone know why I tend to fail less often when I have vids saved on the computer, but fail more often when I have them all deleted and have to go searching for more?
I understand the whole rush for finding some mentality, but why exactly does it happen and is there a way to stop it? I'd rather not keep vids and stuff on my computer just to prevent myself from failing as often.

The reason is because searching for triggers also releases dopamine. It means you will likely see something completely new that you have never viewed before rather than save content you have already seen once or even more than that. Novelty is a huge driver in dopamine release. That is why we tend to have multiple tabs open and quickly move from one to the other, just to find the most titivating content.

However, it is not the answer to keep porn videos on your computer. In all related actions to this addiction, the key is
to stop at the earliest possible opportunity. If you think about searching for dirty videos, close the browser, get out of the room/house and go for a walk (or whatever is practical). Also, don't touch your dick unless you are washing it or peeing.

I had 3 GIF's in a folder on my computer that I never opened. I actually forgot they were there until I was being forced to upgrade to Windows 10 and I thought of "what files should I make sure I save in case I lose everything?" These were immediately recalled to memory.

    Agree with @IGY

Take that shit off your computer, because eventually... and you know damn well, when you get bored (NOT horny, NOT urges, none of that shit), when YOU GET BORED.. you are going to open up that file and wank off.

Get it off your computer right now, and do something more productive. Go outside. Play a sport, or something. Something that'll keep you entertained and occupied.

You are probably failing less because you are really aren't ready to give up your porn, and you are relapsing less because you are allowing yourself access to your little porn-folder home. You aren't strict or adamant with yourself yet. Until, you are ready.. this is the reason why you are doing it less, but eventually you will fall into another vicious cycle with more GIFs and binge relapse again.

I've deleted everything off my computer a good 50 times so far, but when I get the urge I find more and download a bunch again. And when it's not on the computer I do it even more than when it is, that's the problem i'm having.

Then you aren't ready to beat this addiction. You don'tr enough strength say "NO!" to this. My advice is delete your files again, turn off your computer, and do something with your life. (Or listen to non-triggering music)

If you are relapsing then you are not clear on your initial goals of why you want to stop watching porn. So why do you want to stop watching porn? If you have a compelling reason you will stop watching porn.

I can tell you my story really quick. I started when I was 13, my only focus in life was porn and women. I didn't care about anything else. I remember when my mother was in labor with my youngest sibling I was out with a girl trying to have sex. I had three wonderful girlfriends in my life and I let them go because I valued porn and other women more than them.. Now that I'm 40 years old, been using porn for almost 30 years,, single and lonely, been with 50 girls and over 200 escorts, I have realized that I'm more empty inside now than I used to be. I envisioned my life with porn and saw myself as a 70-year-old man, sitting in front of a computer all alone and a dark corner of a room, watching dirty images so he can get a 5 second high. I don't want to be that man. I want to be someone who appreciates people for who they are,, enjoys life, and values the people and life. One day I want to get married and have a family and watch my kids grow up.. This is my dream and this is what I'm working towards.

I will tell you there are some tough days for me. I try my best and so far so good. The key for me is to get out of the house as much as possible. And my goal is not hard PMO. It is no porn viewing. It's rare that I masturbate but if I do every three or five days it's okay by me. It's okay if I'm with a girl. But when I don't want is to view porn.

Good luck with your journey and remember if you have strong enough reasons for why you want to stop watching porn you will do it.

thanks for sharing with us. you have proved that virtual relationships can lead to more emptiness, slowly it will turn to blankness. what i believe is right. thank you again.

@Fallior : this has happened to me a lot. after you delete them, you would have no pleasure left. scary eh. maybe next try to delete them after you do no PMO for a week, cuz deleting after a relapse is a lie. they will come back

That's pretty much my reasoning. I want to have a girl where I only think of her and not porn. I also do not want to rely on porn for escape or pleasure and don't want brain fog or any of the negatives it comes with as well. I just want to function normally again, but my self control is not the best and I don't have the option of getting out of the house or any of that like other people can to have distractions and such.

Pretty much yeah. Every time I'd relapse, I'd delete them out of frustration.

I can assure you that as a 70 year old man you'll be more than that guy sitting in front of his PC in a dark corner. You'll be vulnerable and a target for every one of these on line hustlers especially on sites like Twitter who are masters of manipulation. With all the medications available, and believe me all the "elderly" women out there looking for companionship you'll wonder why you're fapping to some 22 year old "porn star" and sending her gifts, and kissing her ass for a "like", while you know in your heart based on your life experience, that she's probably more screwed up than you are despite all the BS she's tweeting. She's the one flying to Vegas twice a month, trolling the casinos in the wee small hours looking for guys to hookup with, putting her life in jeopardy, and then trying to convince you and others, that she's the girl next door living this marvelous life. She's the one trying to sell Snapchats to suckers for $100 while she dildo's herself on he BF's coffee table. "Girl of your dreams", more like a nightmare. When I stopped "following" these bums on Twitter, it seemed the need to PMO became less of an issue. There's nothing like crawling into bed with a real live woman, than jerking off to some porn whore who tweets BS about getting bad service for her Mercedes-Benz at a local dealer, while most of her "followers" are probably driving 10 year old cars or scraping by raising a family. With Reality Comes Freedom!!!!

I had this happen to me as well I had to do a full format to my card (not a fast in-phone format) But take the mem card out back it up and format it then restore all your info... I had a couple damaged sectors on my card from just removing it with out ejecting it and so on a few times... Let us know if this helps.

Also you may want to check your card you could have a bad one... or if its an aftermarket one (not the one that came with your phone) if could be a fake... I bought a 32gb card on ebay and it was a 4gb some how reprogrammed to look like a 32gb card...

Yeah, I've never even thought about following any girl like that. That thought it just nasty to me.

Sorry, but your reply doesn't make any sense to anything written on this thread. I'm confused.
