Yes, brother Freeman82, "GOD has something great in your future." -Isaiah 43:19-. Keep BELIEVING, keep HOPING, keep WALKING.
You'll be FREE from this terrible addiction. I wish you best of success on your NoFap journey!

Yesterday I had a lustful dream. When I was half awake, I realized what it was, and stayed in bed sleeping, to enjoy more of the dream, at that point aware of what I was doing. It made me late for Mass, staying in bed so late. The old me would have (if the old me went to daily Mass) gone to my (also the closest) parish as usual, received communion presuming God's mercy, and said "I'll go to confession eventually." Still wanting to receive the strength given to us in receiving the Eucharist, the new me got up, drove a bit farther to the parish where they have a Mass at the same time but also have confession during every Mass, and conveniently where my preferred confessor is, so that I could confess my sin, and receive Jesus' Body. There are two confessionals, and I chose the one to the right of the entrance; it happened to be the confessor I prefer. I was second to last in line, and was the last to confess in time to receive. I was actually able to leave the confessional, and get immediately in line for Communion, saying the Act of Contrition and my penance as I approached the Lord. Later on in the day, there were temptations of the same kind that presented themselves for several hours on end, but they posed no challenge. Had I not received the sanctifying grace of Reconciliation, I would surely have struggled with lustful thoughts, and committed this same mortal sin again.

Concidences for your consideration: This is the first time since returning to confession that I have willingly entertained lustful thoughts. The temptations presented later on in the day were my greatest weaknesses; before NoFap they would have led me to reveling in lustful fantasizing, and probably porn and chat RP, and MO. It was the first time I was able to recite the Act of Contrition from memory - seems to have hit the repetition-into-long-term-memory threshold just in time. Combined with my favorite confessor being in the confessional, and finding the strength to reject the sin and leave for Mass just in time to receive Communion, I definitely see how God allowed the temptation of this dream, and my fall into sinful thoughts, for my own benefit.

Hi everyone! Alan mentioned to me on reddit that this group exists so I decided to join up. I've been battling a porn addiction for a long time now, and I really want to kick the habit before my wedding. I want to bring a clean, free heart to my nuptial mass.

Further coincidences I did not realise:
Was the 9th day of a novena to Mary, Undoer of Knots.
The parish I went to that day (Dec 1), having Our Lady as their patron, is doing a novena to Our Lady of The Immaculate Conception to conclude on her Feast day under that title. So I began and have continued that novena. I actually had noticed it in the calendar and made a mental note to mark the Feast, probably going to Immaculate Conception parish for Mass. But because I went to an Our Lady of Something parish, they did the novena after morning Mass, and I've continued it on my own. Not the first Marian devotion I've been not subtly directed toward. Seriously, guys: Our Lady is not subtle.

That's pretty awesome Allan! After praying the first day of the Novena for Our Lady Undoer of Knots, I decided to use a screen overlay program to keep a picture of Our Lady first and foremost on my computer. If I want to relapse, it would have to be while looking at Mary. I think it will help keep my mind from drifting towards temptation.

Hey all, I am new to this and I have never tried any accountability-like group before, but after a recent 'bout of falling I am quite fed up with the constant cycle of living, falling, sinning, confessing, and repeat so I am going to give it a try! Any advice on how to best utilize this site and the communities within it?

  9. Just exploring the site is the best way to get to know it. I found the Success Stories thread to be an inspiration. You learn all the practical tricks there. Then for spiritual support I come to this group and the Christian Faptstronauts forum.

For the first week or so of rebooting I generally posted something every day, just saying how I was getting on, to see how others were getting on. I'm on day 19 now and I post less regularly but I check the site every day for moral support, just to know I'm part of something bigger than my own struggles.

    May God bless you abundantly.

My prayer/thought for today - Lord, in spite of the temptations, it is not going to happen. It is not going to happen. Amen.

Novena to Our Lady, Undoer of Knots

    Day 6:

Queen of Mercy, I entrust to you this knot in my life [mention your request here] and I ask you to give me a heart that is patient until you undo it.

Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me.

Virgin Mary, Mother of fair love, Mother who never refuses to come to the aid of a child in need, Mother whose hands never cease to serve your beloved children because they are moved by the divine love and immense mercy that exist in your heart, cast your compassionate eyes upon me and see the snarl of knots that exists in my life. You know very well how desperate I am, my pain, and how I am bound by these knots. Mary, Mother to whom God entrusted the undoing of the knots in the lives of his children, I entrust into your hands the ribbon of my life. No one, not even the evil one himself, can take it away from your precious care. In your hands there is no knot that cannot be undone. Powerful Mother, by your grace and intercessory power with Your Son and My Liberator, Jesus, take into your hands today this knot.

    [Mention your request here]

I beg you to undo it for the glory of God, once for all. You are my hope.
O my Lady, you are the only consolation God gives me, the fortification of my feeble strength, the enrichment of my destitution, and, with Christ, the freedom from my chains.
    Hear my plea.
Keep me, guide me, protect me, o safe refuge!

Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me.

    Amen.

This is a longer version of today's meditation for this same Novena:

So we can see exactly what "snares of evil" means in the shorter version. I'd like everyone to take a second and recognize that we found ourselves saying and meditating this meditation, on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Immaculate Conception who defeats original sin, crushing the serpent under her heel, and who crushes the head of Satan and all his angels. Let's just let that sink in for a minute, mmkay? :)

Ask our Mother Immaculate for help today! She's surely having a rollicking time smashing up all kinds of demons to celebrate this Feast.

    Day 9:

Most Holy Mary, our Advocate, Undoer of Knots, I come today to thank you for undoing this knot in my life.

You know very well the suffering it has caused me. Thank you for coming, Mother, with your long fingers of mercy to dry the tears in my eyes; you receive me in your arms and make it possible for me to receive once again the divine grace. Mary, Undoer of Knots, dearest Mother, I thank you for undoing the knots in my life. Wrap me in your mantle of love, keep me under your protection, enlighten me with your peace! Amen.

Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me.
