"Just do something, the answer will follow."
    - The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, by Mark Mason.

This is the biggest truth ever told. Why I gotta do it. Why Socializing now is more important than ever.

Life is a show, it goes on until we die. We all going to die at sometime. It's time to acknowledge this fact. It's the biggest fear of humanity. We try to put our name on buildings, citys, imortalize it with fame, politics, etc. It's time to stop. Stop trying to be imortal and accept death.

Before I die, what could happen at any moment, I'll spend 90 days interacting with stranges. How? Glad you asked Aiyoshi.

It's pretty simple, just go out somewhere or find some stranger in the internet and talk to him. Well not actually. We're going to listen and ask questions instead of talking.

If 2% of the world population has listening skills it too much. They are the smart ones here. They know that people give a fuck only about themselves, and the one's who listen to their entires monologs are their drug.

With this in mind, let's go out and find out what are the answers life will give us.

This couldn't be more true. Had no idea of how to socialize tomorrow. Then the people from church say:
    - Come tomorrow and help us put food on the truck.
    - Sure! Gonna put it on my phone. To remember.

Damn, I explained myself to then. Gotta accept that if someone cares, he'll question.

Talked to 5 people there. One has dark brown eyes, and a name (Aldo.)

    Lesson 1: Never. Explain. Yourself.

People do NOT give a fuck about you, they do NOT care about why you wrote down their names in a notebook. If they care, they'll ask. Why explain then? If they ask, give the answer, a honest one.

Lesson 2: People are self centered.

After two hours outside, talking with strangers at the church. A kid comes by and we start talking about anime. I screwd the conversation by using the word "I" two times. There are ways to say the same thing that would be more engaging for the other person, and less selfish.

Most people are like this, always saying I this, I that, I, I, I. They interrupt people say tell their life story, and give advice in a way that sound like an order. They are going to read this and say:
    - Everyone do this, stop punishing yourself for saying "I" to times and go do the same.

No, thank you. The most pleasant people to be around are those who try to make us special, those who listen to us, those who are humble.

That same kid didn't wait for his turn to talk like I did, but he gave me one. It's a progress for him. He doesn't even know that. The rest of the interaction where a series of questions and monologs, and I hate going through the monologs, but love to improve listening skills. Free information everyone.

So yeah, here's a song to help on your next interactions:

    Remember it, ok?

P.S. I write too much. Lol.

Why are you doing this challenge? Do have difficulty talking to people? Do you feel like you are unconfident? Do find it easier to talk to strangers because their aren't any consequences if you "mess up"? Anyway, I like what you are doing- it gives a glimpse into social norms from a different and objective view. Keep up the good work.

Intresting, AiYoshi I will remember what you've said here, though i would like to add on. That everything should be balanced.
    Even speech/listening.

The number of people who will give us a chance to talk is very few, so why bother?

This is pretty cool. Does Manson actually lay out a 90day challenge in his book or is this just an objective view?

To not give a fuck about something is to give a fuck about something bigger.

Let's say that what I care is honesty, then you comes with a shirt that you love and it looks awful.
Many people would care about avoiding conflict so they are going to say: You look great on it. A total lie.
Howerever I DON'T care about conflicting you, so I'll say: It looks bad.
It could start a discussion between us, and later, we will appreciate or hate each other a little more.

So the question lies, what do you value above anything else?

Mason, during his teenage and young adult life, suffered from social anxiety. Then a friend died at a party. This friend appeared in his dream and said: Why do you care that I died so much if you're afraid to live?
After that he took the decision to live and face his problems.

Lesson 3: Be aware of side effects.

We introverts are like a battery, at one point the energy ends and we need time to rechard. Soon, every voice will sound annoying, all sound be a source of pain. At this point, PMO sounds like a good idea.

This point will be reached, over and over again for all of us introverts, there's no way to escape from it. See all the signs, hear all the sounds and be annoyed it, and then, accept it.

Think with logic and no matter how much your feelings tell you to relax and PMO, think with logic. This logic was what kept my Porn-Free streak going, this logic will prevent all relapses that will come.

It's like going to the gym.
    - Work out.
    - Rest.
    - Repeat.

Try to work out too much and a lesion appears.

Gonna rest until I recover, it may take 1 or 2 days to do it, but in the end, it's better to rest than to PMO.

    Lesson 4: It's Painful.

It's 2pm and I wall into the metro station. It's crouded, I look around and there's one girl, alone from everyone. After a minute I walk to her and ask a question, an excuse to talk to her. She replies and I walk away, with a high heart hate, feeling like something pierced my throat and I died.

All interactions are like this. Painful, when we run away, we see ourselves like a total loser. When we manage to go ahead, we have to her someone talking about subjects that we don't enjoy. This pain will be with us everywhere.

Buddhism says that to live is to suffer, what it doesn't say is, for what you want to suffer? There's many ways to answer this question. Once you find your answer, keep it in mind and see it as a source for motivation. Let it become the reason to keep moving foward. When those voices appear and say to give up on it, remember that it's impossible to retreat now.
