For all the tech savvies, gamers, programmers, designers etc... Share your current PC specs or those of the PC you plan to build soon.

I'm a light gamer so the recent one I built (back in December 2016) was a mid-level desktop:

    Intel Core i5 6600 @ 3.30GHz
    16 GB DDR4 Ram
    MSI H170 GAMING M3 Mobo
    GTX 1060 6GB
    Western Digital Black, 2TB HDD
    Kingston Hyper Savage 256Gb SSD

I occasionally game on 1080p, so I couldn't have needed more specs. Heck, according to some I should have gotten a 1050ti even, lol.

    32gig ram
    1 Tb SSD
    2 Tb HDD
    1070 gpu
    Asus something for mobo

Hmmm. What else do you want to know? Nothing too obscene, but gets the job done when I need it to.

I've been thinking about trying out the new RYZEN processors by AMD. Leaning towards the ryzen 5 or a i7-7700k with either an Asus motherboard (not sure which model yet) 16 gbs of ram, a sad hard drive and 1TB hard drive space. A corsair case with a few built-in fans and corsair psu. If I decide to do games, 1080 ti and buy a 32 inch TV as a monitor with hdmi connection.

    GPU: GTX 750 ti

I'm a light gamer too. I barely play anything but League of Legends these days. It's probably time to upgrade my GPU, it was completely sufficient 3 years ago, but it's starting to not be able to handle some of the newest games now. I will probably just get GTX 1050 ti or maybe GTX 1060 and keep the rest of my system the same.

On the bright side you can play Vice City and emulate some retro games with ease ;)

750ti can still handle loads of games to this day but yeah, it's not the best option to stick with for a comfortable experience. If you wanna be future proofed on 1080p high quality gaming then I'd go with the 1060 (6GB), otherwise if you're still on 720p and you don't care about details THAT much, go with the 1050ti. Before this upgrade I had a PC from 2004, with an upgraded GPU of 512mb vram or something.

If you got the cheddar for that then why not. If you're gonna blow your buck on a 1080ti you might as well couple it with a good CPU like the Ryzen 7 1700X or i7-7700K. Get a Ryzen 5 or i5-7600K if you're gonna go for mid-level gaming and work experience.

    So something like an

    i7-7700K/Ryzen7 1700X
    GTX 1080ti
32GB DDR4 RAM (16Gb is more than enough for just gaming but whatever tickles your pickle)
    1 or 2 TB HDD
    256GB SSD
    Z270 Mobo
    1440p or 4K screen.

You're looking at 2,000$ plus though, so save up well for that.

    Mine:
    AMD FX 8350, 8x 4.0GHz
    32GB DDR3 (2133MHz CL9)
    GTX 1080 (8GB)
    1TB SSD

It's enough to watch youtube videos I guess. I quit videogames completely. Still get a lot of satisfaction from my rig. I just love surrounding myself with nice technology. My ultrawide 4K monitor makes my life a little bit nicer and easier.

Future plans? Maybe another 4K monitor. My keyboard and mouse is really old and should be upgraded. I should not watercool that system, it wouldn't be a very rational choice. However... I miss the look :D I want a HDD bay water reservoir. Probably not gonna dye the water. I have programmable led panels in my case, so I want to avoid dominant colors on my rig as they would clash with some of the led color schemes. Also water dye leads to more dirt that has to be washed out of the components. Plus the led lighting itself should be enough to give the water a satisfying look, especially in the tubes.
For me function > looks, I keep it as simple as I can.

Edit: Someday I want to try out alternative cases, like a table a wall mount or a mineral oil tank.
