    Hey Guys,

I´m currently in a very very bad mood, because I am in a vicious circle.
I am suffering from depression and I am addicted to porn, cigarettes etc. and lost my girlfriend 4 month ago and I am still not able to handle this situation.
I know, that its over, but she goes to the same university, so I often see her.
I tried much medications and I am in therapy, but every day ist almost the same.
I started doing yoga and meditation, but sometimes I lost control and I am almost unable to finish things, have fears and see no light in my life right know. About a week ago I read an article about microdosing magic mushrooms and I ordered some of these.
Will start next week. I know, that mushrooms have potential risks, but I don´t want to take them for a huge "trip", just for therapeutical potential.
Anybody here, who tried microdosing mushrooms? If yes, how did it work for you?
    Glad to hear answers :)

I have much experience with psychedelics especially shrooms and LSD.

I would say just go ahead and take a full dose of shrooms, it'll be more insightful. I've heard of microdosing LSD but no shrooms.

The problem is, that I have much problems after separation from girlfriends.
It´s almost psychosis, so I am afraid of taking a full dose of shrooms, although I would like to do it.
But the risk isn´t worth it. Thank you for your answer!

I have recently been very interested in microdosing but havent had the chance to do it. I have experience with taking full doses though. Id say do your research and start out small and slow, it definitely has some benefits for some people. If you aren't in a good place mentally already and have never taken psychedelics before I would highly recommend against taking a full dose.

I've been doing a fair bit of research on the topic of microdosing mushrooms here in trufflemagic,com/blog/microdosing-magic-mushrooms/, as well as lsd. I recently got some mushies to give it a try. Supposedly the effects are along the line of reduced anxiety, increased creativity/confidence and better cognitive function/ thought process's.

I've been doing them every second day in a dose of .2-.3 grams, which at first I thought would have zero effect. But I am noticing pronounced effects on my speech patterns and how well I can communicate with other people(increased memory, better use of hand gestures, sentences flow better)..I've noticed it's easier to comprehend topics, as I took a microdose a day before a test at school studied for three hours and took in everything i read. Without much prior knowledge on the exam from not paying attention/ being lazy in class. I did manage to get a 76, which where I am from is a B.
I tried a suduko while microdosing, it was much easier, and took me about 6 minutes to complete, it was rated moderate difficulty

Not much effect on anxiety, but creativity was much better.

I plan to continue microdosing for a while to see what long term benefits I can reap from them. short term have been very nice so far!

I am sorry to be so blunt but that is downright idiotic advice to give someone without some words of caution and basic ground rules. Quite dangerous.

Actually before it was illegal both LSD and psylocybine were studied for possible used in treating mental ilness and addiction with some success. Ever since the ban, studying them is very hard finantially an legally. So that is why lack of recent research. Reasons are political, not medical or scientific. Yet another victim of moronic policy of war on drugs.

That is actually exactly what is being worked on right now currently there are multiple clinical trials being done on using psilocybine for depression with some success. Ofc road to approved medicament is still long.

That being said psychedelics carry inherent risks. They are not to be toyed with by irresponsible and stupid. Also they won't do any work for you. There is no magic bullet. They might help expand your mind, give you fresh perspective and to learn more about yourself. But in the end you gotta take the insights and do the work yourself either way.

The usual striving for discipline and order in your life should be your main focus. Drugs IMO like pyscilocybine should be used in a safe space, with friends, very very sparingly. It shouldn't be used as a performance enhancing drug because, who are you without it? If you accomplish a bunch of things while microdosing, it could be argued that those aren't even your accomplishments. Also, what happens when you stop taking it, you could be right back to square one, but now with even more you have to contend with. I have worked with people who microdosed at work, and they always acted so manic, but they could never see it themselves. Finally, if you microdose, you will build a tolerance, and have to take more and more eventually. Do you want to become dependent on a drug, or become dependent on yourself?

  10. I have heard hallucinogens have been helpful for addiction. It's an interesting approach for anxiety and depression. Tread lightly and keep us informed of the results.

I think the problem here is you have zero knowledge of psychedelics and what makes them hugely different from most other drugs.

Psychedelics are actually very unsuitable as means of escapism. Often that comes back to bite you in the ass as bad trip experience.

They are very valuable tool that can broaden your mind and help you towards realisations about many things like you wouldn't believe. Give your profound insights about yourself and life in general.

Also I reject your premise that drugs=bad. Drugs are tools used by human beings since time immemorial across EVERY culture we know of historically. Of course they are powerful tools and misuse can cost you dearly. No argument there.

I popped in on this site for the first time in months to see what was being said on this topic and if I could provide insight. This time last year I was on this site for hrs a day FREAKING out about withdrawal symptoms and pied. I was a BAD case. I probably still am a mild case honestly but I feel “normal” for the first time in my life. Over the past two years I’ve made many changes to my life. I became an active person who eats well and exercises regularly. My first ever streak was 284 days and I’ve had many smaller steaks. I believe I am on my second longest at 75 days. At the end of last year one of my best friends of 3 years who I had fallen hard for, and I were starting to get physical and I had a bit of a freak out and texted her about my porn addiction and how it was affecting us. It freaked her out so She panicked and hopped into a relationship and I went no contact. It was rough but I didn’t show it. That’s just a little background to my story. Over the past month I have Microdosed mushrooms daily and have extreme improvement in my mood and outlook on life. It has given me the ambition to get back out there and start a studio project where I will be playing all of the instruments. I’ve gone from 1 hr at the gym 3 times a week to 2 hrs 7 days a week without getting sore or tired. I WANT to go everyday now. I’ve cut out all breads, pasta, and processed foods. I stick with mainly Whole Foods. At my heaviest I was 285 and I am about 160 with a 6 pack starting to show now. I am probably the happiest I’ve ever been and I’ve gone from No female contact for years to having multiple attractive girls that I’m talking to at a time that have either come on to me, asked for my number, or flat out asked to bang. I was borderline suicidal last year and I am now probably one of the most confident and physically fit men I know. My father has been out of work for over a year with an injury and has had anxiety and depression for over a decade. He has seen great improvement with Microdosing mushrooms as well. Oh yeah I used to get drunk every night for 5 or 6 years and haven’t touched alcohol since Microdosing. I also quit cigarettes and a 2 month heroin habit I had developed on New Years but that had nothing to do with mushrooms, probably more to do with just trying to be healthy in general.

Psilocibin are not addictive. Also the regime is Day 1 take the pill, Day two abstain because there's still some in the system. Day 3 Give your body a day without any in the system. Day 4, take your second dose (pill whatever). No chance of becoming hooked. Just sayin'

Oh, and there are clinical trials and research going on in Holland. So far, impressive results. :)

Personally, I see microdosing as just taking another kind of suppliment like millions of people do every day. The difference is, if you "abused" Psilocibin and took too many, there's a chance you might discover "The Missing Link" or write a brilliant piece of music or an essay. You might even have a chat with your dog haha! Whereas, if you abused the supliments you bought across the counter, you'd probably need a stomache pump.

Wow, buddy, I am so happy for you. I read your other post and read the replies that followed. In fact it was one of those replies that promted me to join this forum.

I started microdosing last Thursday and took my second 200gm yesterday, 1st Dec. To be honest, I didn't feel any different. Can I expect the benefits to become more evident as I continue? How did it go for you? Did you feel immediate effects to your mood and mental clarity? Or did that come over time? I'd love to hear about your experience with it.

ps. 'hope your dad's doing better. :) I'm an auld arse (68yrs) and I know depression sucks. Keep that light burnin' bro'

Nah, you're thoughts are the problem, drugs only change how you feel, you'll be hooked on a non FDA approved drug and may end up with other issues, are you actually serious because politely put I don't think its very smart. And just take a look at the average mushroom and LSD user, they're dirty and stinky and different, not that different is bad, but dirty and stinky, not good, take care man, get real help, but sometimes in life we need to be burned to learn a lesson, that's life, be careful, you've been warned.

If taking it helps him get out of a rut then it could be useful. The key is knowing when to put it down, which can be a problem if you like how you feel on the drug more than sobriety.

Please don’t take it, this shit shouldn’t be taken while you are depressed.with hallucinations you don’t fear from addiction it is almost not addictive but you fear the mental damage it may done to you, I am speaking from my experience, i was doing micro doses and I swear nothing fucked my mind like mushroom did, and this last almost forever with you , so please if you do it be prepared and do it once every 3 months maximum. Hallucinations are coming from your thoughts and if you depressed this hallucinations are effected by your depression and I believe that the thoughts you get in the trip can live with you for longtime (maybe lifelong) before realizing it is the results of hallucinations and its not real

I believe that mushroom open your mind and make you more aware of yourself and the world around you, it may seem like a good thing, but i also believe that more consciousness equal depression
