Mohammed married Aisha when she was 6. He had sex with her when she was 9. Most Muslim scholars admit this. I can't speak for the rest of the world, but that definitely makes him a pedophile in my book.

I know. I just take pleasure in crushing the atheist argument.

  3. Matthew 5:18,

"For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."

I don't care if you believe an Atheist lives an empty life with no purpose because you can't imagine your life without your imaginary friend. But there's a big difference between a psychopath who kills people and a religious person who kills in the name of God.

I'm not gonna sit here and explain to you an Atheist's moral standards and ethics, but to summarize, they are equal to yours, we just don't believe there's a heavenly daddy ready to punish us for every little thing we do and think in our lives.

And if I break the law I go to jail so it's not like life is without consequences when you don't have religion.

There has never been a true secular nation on earth, the closest thing is the U.S. because the first amendment separates church and state. That said, if you take a sociology class you'll see that a country ruled by a theocracy (Syria for example) is the living proof that a country ruled by religion is more violent, suppresses women rights, they kill and arrest homosexuals, and the list goes on.

Again, I'm not here to try and convince you, but I have to call your bullshit for others to see.

But that was 1400 years ago, eh? Even the infidels who hated him very much and wanted to kill him didn't say that he is a pedophile. Even her parents didn't even think about denying the marriage. And he didn't marry for sexual purpose, that's because Islam deny that. 1400 years ago, I don't think that marriage will be the same as now, as girls used to hit puberty due to climate changes.

I'very never taken any sociology classes, but as far as I can tell Syria is no theocracy. It appears to be some sort of authoritarian presidential republic.

A theocracy is a form of government where a diety is the ultimate authority, and some sort of priest is the earthly representative.

Syria is a self-described secular country with freedom of religion. Bashar al-assad is an alawite muslim, who, as far as I can tell, holds no religious office.

I'm not making a point about life under theocracies, I certainly would not like to live under any earthly priest's authority, just thought I'd clear that up.

    Peace.

  11. You're right, wrong example, here's a list of other places though.

Theocracy is wrong in your opinion and I don't care about your opinion. I love how you give me some random websites and wait for me to believe them. And yes, in Islamic countries men and women who cheat are stoned to death.

  14. Yeah well, my morality tells me that stoning someone to death is barbaric and quite evil. Thinking this is right is fucked up.

Nazi ideology [like any ideology] had various strands intertwined into its belief system. Just as there is a socialist strand, believe it or not [National Socialism], there is also a nominally Christian strand. This Christian strand was derivative of the secularization of Christian theology into German Idealism. Nineteenth century German Idealism was itself derivative of the romantic movement that grew out of revolutionary thought [in contrast to the more rationalist]. The multi-stranded belief system is itself pictured in the fascist symbol, which consists of a bundle of rods. Elements of fascism were certainly Christian in name, but were not Christian in substance. German culture, by that time, had gone well beyond orthodoxy.

It helps not to simplify, reduce, and look at these issues pinned down on a two-dimensional plane in front of you. Rather, in so far as you are interested in the truth and reality of things, you need to see these issues in terms of the fuller history and culture.

That's your opinion, not your morality. We don't stone people for no reason, adultery is a reason for stoning.

Well, being a public forum, there is a wider readership... one would hope.

  18. It's the moral standard people in free, secular government countries hold. Which again proves my point, living in a Theocracy makes religious belief law, and it's only an absurd religious belief to think it's alright to stone someone just cause they decided to cheat on their partner.

I will never be able to get through you and I never thought I could, but it's sad that in the 21st century people don't look at you and agree with me that religious morality is outdated and it makes good people do evil things in the name of "God". You sir are the living example. Thank you for proving my point.

  19. For the sake of argument let's agree that the Nazi's didn't read the bible before they shot Jews dead like animals. Nor they did a prayer in the morning with Hitler giving them the day's sermon.

    That said

The argument was "People do horrible things in the "Name of God"

Regardless if they follow a religious denomination or not they still think God is on their side, and justify their evils in his name.

And to top things off, the bible doesn't really help with all the atrocities of the old testament. It promotes violence and intolerance, so no wonder the Nazi's were able to do all these things and not necessarily contradict God's way of doing things.

Just saying, don't try and excuse religion as if it has no inspiration to do evil in the name of "God".
