It's true that porn has been normalized subconsciously prominently through the media. Last year, when i visited a psychologist to address my problem. She told me it was "perfectly normal" to view porn and that it was 'healthy' to masturbate. The only question i had in mind back then was, why then, do i feel guilty, ashamed of it?

I was controlled by porn addiction for nearly 10 years. But watching pornography didn’t make me normal. Feeling uncomfortable made me normal. Feeling disgusted afterwards made me normal. Normal was the feeling that I couldn’t bring this stuff into a relationship. Normal was knowing this was no way to learn how to love and care for a real human.

The southpark episode about aa, bloody mary also ends by saying one should just get self discipline to control the craving. I've consumed quite a lot and would say become very dependent on alcohol for my social life. AA helped me out of it. The big has this line that says "we are people who lost there legs and cannot grow back new ones
