Are you seeing a counselor or do you have a spiritual director? Either one could help you with these issues. But one word of caution: when you are looking for a spiritual director, be certain it is someone who is open minded about sex addictions. I made the mistake of not vetting one of my directors, and he treated me like scum after I brought up my porn addiction.

What do you mean by purify? Praying brings us closer to God, but it must be part of a sacramental life.

The heart is material contaminated and must be cleansed. Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.

That is the heresy of dualism.

The material is not evil. All that God created is good. We are not souls inside bodies. We are created body and soul; we are composite.

I mean that we have impure desires and one must remove the seeds of sin within it.
