Hello everyone. I am new to the group. But i have been on nofap for a while now (47 days). I need help on how i can deal with withdrawals (mainly depression and anxiety). These feelings have been making me question my faith at times which makes me sad. I have been feeling this since day 0. Any advice would help. Thanks.

Are you seeing a counselor or do you have a spiritual director? Either one could help you with these issues. But one word of caution: when you are looking for a spiritual director, be certain it is someone who is open minded about sex addictions. I made the mistake of not vetting one of my directors, and he treated me like scum after I brought up my porn addiction.

Adoration. Mother Teresa wants me to tell you to go to Adoration. Daily if possible. Mama Mary says listen to St Teresa.

What do you mean by purify? Praying brings us closer to God, but it must be part of a sacramental life.

The material is not evil. All that God created is good. We are not souls inside bodies. We are created body and soul; we are composite.

It sounds like depression is a primary problem for you, most likely genetic and chemical, and MO was a means for you to increase dopamine in your brain to help slightly, but now that that has stopped, you are left with no means to help yourself. Exercise will help, praying will help, counseling should help, but you MAY also need medication. I would call your doctor to discuss the issue now so it doesn't worsen. You don't want it to get to the point of feeling completely hopeless and helpless.
