How could Jesus say, “Your sins are forgiven,” before He died on the cross?
Answer: We know that God forgives sins on the basis of Jesus’ shed blood on the cross (Ephesians 1:7; 1 John 1:7). Yet, before He went to the cross, Jesus told two people that their sins were forgiven. This fact puzzles some people. How could Jesus forgive sin before the sacrifice was even made? After all, Hebrews 9:22 says, “Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” ????????????????? Whats the answer?

CS Lewis writes of the "good infection" of Christ. He inserts himself into history like a drop of dye into a pool of water. Just as the dye eventually works its way into every molecule of water, so Jesus' forgiveness works its way throughout time and space and is available to all, no matter what part of the pool (i.e., era or geography) they are living in! Time presents no obstacle to our immortal God who himself lives outside its bounds.

All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast--all whose names have not been written in the Lamb's book of life, ***the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world***.
