I would agree that most people that use porn are not addicts but I think this group does a good job of introducing those children to the gospel wouldn't you agree @stands to reason

I'm sure there is some deception in the NoFap community, via the father of lies. In my opinion a very small part of that is intentional and the rest is by the simple lack of wisdom. I have also found that the vast majority of users in this community are following the Proverb 27:17 'As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another' and are doing their best to help other users. One fact that I do know is that I have never, never, believed it was possible to go without PM until I stumbled across NoFap and this group of brothers. Thanks guys! Yours in Christ

No one is being told in this group that they must rely on their own willpower to overcome PMO. Nor is anyone being prevented from sharing Christ here! Rather the opposite, in fact, and there are many recent examples of this. If you have specific concerns, please feel free to reach out to me directly. Thanks!

I pray that this group will glorify Christ and that our love toward one another here will be a witness to the entire community of the love of Christ toward the world.

i will tell you this, i have been in Christ for a very long time and the knowledge of the word of God was NOT enough for me. It wasn't until I learned and gained some worldly knowledge about PMO and became educated that The process began for me. Also helping others i think is the key to helping yourself.

I needed people to educate me and until now I never had that. No father no one to help me understand the reality of PM. I'll tell you this my son now knows about PMO NoFap style. He has a problem with PMO and he is a good Christian young man. He will make an account as soon as mom gives the O.K. Haha

Parents definitely need to work with their children on this. We monitor our sons' online interactions very closely and have accountability software installed on their devices. Easy access to P is indeed a modern plague that we need to be very aware of and intently fighting against!

Jesus pays the price for our sin but Jesus does not remove the sin from our lives. We still must deal with it based on the different processes he reveals to us. He will show us the best route but we must want it enough to seek it.

Why did not one professing Christian mention The 4 RULES that End Sexual Sin? Protecting the genitalia? Protection of the eyes and sensitive to improper/wicked thoughts. Prayer. Practicing putting on the armor of God?

Because @stands to reason if you make recovery ALL about God then when the person fails they feel as if they have failed God. For some people, that's a heavy burden that I refuse to lay on them.

Paul uses the analogy of soldiers armor to describe real faith in God. It's not an actual thing you do every day.

@Mr. McMarty I strongly disagree. Christ is indeed central to recovery and we make no excuses for that in this group. Many here state very clearly over and over again that we have been forgiven by Christ and that he loves us more than we can know, even in the midst of our sin. We proclaim hope and confidence in him, not in ourselves. It is indeed *all* about Christ. Let there be no mistake about that. All truth is God's truth.

@stands to reason God has many members of the church and I would never dare to guess who is and who isn't in the service of the Lord. All I can say is that your 4 rules and your general demeanor of accusing people of being against God come off as self-serving and narcissistic.

@stands to reason Did you read the other comments on the thread you mention? There was a clear presentation of biblical wisdom made to the OP. I linked to the "FREEdom" process which I have found to be helpful and which clearly presents the Gospel and the hope we have in Christ. You linked the "4 Rules" which have been helpful to you and also present Christ as central to recovery. All is well. I do not understand why you object or what you are finding fault with.

@stands to reason As a teacher, I appreciate your desire to instruct others by what you write. The problem with not quoting your sources, especially, Scripture, is two-fold: 1) It can appear that you are claiming the words you write are your own if you do not credit their source. I know this is not your intent. 2) It can be difficult to tell which of your words are your own and which are quotes from Scripture. For the untrained Bible student, this can lead to even more confusion. Paul sets the example here in 1 Cor. 7. Let's follow his lead for the edification of all. Thanks!
