Dear my fellow brothers,

I just want to be fully honest with you all before I relapse (hopefully not) and say I am struggling. I am really struggling with bouncing the eyes away. I have noticed that this has become my biggest issue in falling into PMO. It is so hard to change this as I dont even realise I am doing it. It is really sad to say it has become quite a default habit in doing so. When I do notice I am doing it I turn away only to be gravitated back to doing it again. It is sad to say that this is the worst it has ever been. I recently worked away from family and the wife for a month in a small country town. Unfortunately, I exposed myself to so much filth on the internet that my eyes are now constantly looking for any form of gratification from the opposite sex. I really need help...

Is there any tips or strategies you guys have found to work in this particular area? I know that I need to pray and ask God daily to renew my mind and eyes and to only see what he wants me to see.

Bless you all!

Don’t look at women as they are walking past. That’s the start of self-control and disclipline

Try to focus on what you are doing. You can hear women coming most of the time. Either their voices or footsteps. When you hear them approaching, try to look away and focus on your task at hand. If you must talk to them look at their eyes or face and not their bodies.

a thing i do with this is to first acknowledge that I'm looking, change my gaze up to their eyes and try to see what kind of a day they are having. Once I've done that, and it only takes a second or two, I look for someone else to do that with, but I try to look for a variety of people - men, women, old, young, mom's, dads, kids, beggars, buskers, drivers, dogs, etc

If you think the "world" is going to stop throwing them in your face then we are all mistaken. Good Grief!!! Even pastor's wives are dressed to trip us up!!! Satan's job couldn't be any easier than it is today... but we NEED to recognize that IT IS SATAN that who has created such a provocative world that is very hard to live in!!! WE ARE NOT TO LOVE the "world". Biblically, "Love" means more "to accept" than it does emotionally. We are NOT TO ACCEPT the "world" and it's sin.

Try to look at these "provocative" women as idols put there to trip us up... because that is exactly what they do. It's not 'their' fault... it's OUR fault because we MADE them idols in our lives buy worshiping them thru PMO!!! You not cannot separate the idols on porn sites from who is walking down the street, a product of your OWN making!!! But since WE have created these "triggers" that trip us up, WE need to suffer the pain minute by minute of (as bennet said) self-control and discipline!!! Again, the "world" is NOT going to help us!!!

Everything that has been said is tough but has to be done. I hate that I have become like this. It really is idols that i have been lusting over. But it is so easy to forget this. Many Christian women now do dress like the world. It's so hard... I need to starve my eyes. It's the only way of breaking this vicious cycle. Bless U guys so much

It sounds like you try to fight this in the flesh which is impossible. Instead of trying not to, try to abide in Christ and spend extravagant time with him. Then you will begin to weep instead of lust. When you change your focus, and begin to think about the things that are above, it will become a whole lot easier than trying to just not look and constantly resist.

Only God can help you, surrender to God. Without God we men are too weak to avoid all occasions of sin. My journey is like a long corridor and my occasions are doors that I try to close. If the Holy Spirit is strong (and joint effort from my guardian angel) I close those doors and conquer every corner. “My sin is always before me”.
