From: @stands to reason Why the Majority Cannot STOP Porn, Masturbation, and Orgasms

Even if you pause PMO temporarily from a long streak using human willpower, this has absolutely nothing to do with transforming the mind, or saving the soul from eternal spiritual death from sin. The saving of the soul is called regeneration. God comes and lives within you and you will not desire to sin anymore. He will help you overcome, as he did for me. The following is why you cannot spiritually stop PMO, and most remain held in bondage without God being the director of your life and leading you by his Spirit; daily.

#1 BE OF GOD
You may not know God You think you know him? Do you even profess you know him? Are you good ground? Or are you really a deceptive tare? We don't know how many tares are among the true elect. Jesus said, you will know them by their fruit. But do you really think you are living for God when you are living in PMO sin? You may not know God. Matthew 15:8 KJV - This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. How do you know you have God inside you? 1 John 4:1-2 - Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: How do you know you love God? John 14:21 - He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Matthew 24:13 - But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

#2 FEAR GOD (reverent awe)
You are not fearing God 8:13 - The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. Until you hate sin you will remain arrogant against God and held in place to PMO. You cannot have reverent awe of God when you have no respect of sin. Do not be deceived, sin is enmity against God and without repentance, sin will kill you.

#3 GET WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING
You are lacking wisdom Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Proverbs 4:7

#4 BECOME A HEARER OF THE WORD
You are not hearing God’s voice James 1:19 - let every man be swift to hearMatthew 11:15 - He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. Romans 10:17 - So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

#5 BELIEVE GOD’S WORD
You are not believing on God Take heed, there is an eternal difference in believing in Jesus and believing on Jesus. Believing on God means you have complete unwavering steadfast trust on what God says his will is. You trust always and do not doubt. The Bible says that by walking in the Spirit we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. ... Paul writes in Galatians 5:16, “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. To commit sin is to transgress or disobey these laws. John 15:7 - If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. James 1:6-8 - But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

#6 BECOME A DOER OF THE WORD
You are not doing what the Word says James 1:22 - But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

WARNING! Do not be deceived When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart.:emoji_lion_face:

Yes I am a Catholic... And those things you claim about Catholics are utterly false .. We do NOT worship Mary..... We just honor her as being the mother of God.....

God tells us " honor your father and mother".... When we should even honor our own father and mother, why shouldn't we honor the mother of God himself?

We do not worship idols... We have them as a remembrance of those people.... Kind of like how we have a photograph of a loved one that we look at with fondness ...

Those are called "icons" and not "idols" since we do NOT worship those statues...

Boanerges, instead of giving so much importance to what Calvin or Luther says, why not just read the Bible and see what it states plainly?

You pointed out Ephesians 2 : 8, as if it said works weren't necessary...READ THE VERY NEXT LINE..... read EPHESIANS 2:10.... It clearly says. "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,".

The very next line of what you pointed me says that we are created to do good works....

James is talking about Justification before men? He is clearly talking about being saved.... READ THIS LINE CLEARLY. "What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them?". James 2 : 14...... James clearly says that faith alone CANNOT SAVE THEM..... So he is not talking about justification before men but about salvation......

So just because many people find doing good to be difficult, good works are not necessary now, when they are explicitly said to be necessary in the scripture?

Brother, don't twist what Jesus says... Read Matthew chapter 25 where JESUS himself plainly says that we need atleast try to do good deeds to be saved... "He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life". Jesus himself is playing saying about doing good deeds for people.... Here he isn't saying "as you did not believe in me" but as you did not do it for these....

And the parable of Lazarus and the rich man? That flies in the face of what protestantism says...... The rich man went to hell for not Doing good to Lazarus who was suffering.....

If people find it difficult to do good, then we should encourage them to do good and to seek God's help to become good..... We shouldn't say, "since you find it difficult to do good, there's no need for that... Just have faith in Jesus alone, without doing the good that he commands, and everything will be just fine"

If we find it genuinely difficult to do good, then God will not condemn us for that... Good will not condemn us for weakness....But we should seek his help to become good.... Not just blow away the whole thing and say "faith alone is enough"

I have given clear, scriptural answers to most of what you have said.... Please read what I have said and don't see the Bible through Calvin tinted glasses.... Since the Bible clearly says good works are necessary, especially in letter of James....

“St. James’ Epistle is really an epistle of straw, for it has nothing of the nature of the Gospel about it.” — Martin Luther

Martin Luther called the letter of James "an epistle of straw" just because it contradicted his theories about god works not being necessary for salvation...

If we find it difficult to endure then God will forgive us? NO No No. God cannot accept or forgive any sin big or small outside of Jesus no matter how we try(Works)
