Do you mean experiencing temptations when praying? I know sometimes inappropriate images will enter my mind. I try to just redirect my focus back to the words of the prayer and let the feeling pass. I have also found this helpful prayer to Mary in temptation: "O Mary, my Mother, send me one of they angles to drive away the evil spirit that now tempts me".

Yes this comes in many forms the most common is thoughts which can be anything from thoughts of impurity to what to have for dinner or even about work. Having said this it is important to distinguish from where those thoughts come. No point giving tha S..t more power than what God grants him.

I think, in general, when one stills the mind for vocal prayer, meditation, of silent quiet prayer, inner thoughts and memories are bound to come up to the surface. This can actually be the very healing from prayer - let the thoughts come up and go out, rather than trying to repress them back into our psyches. The same is true of dreams.

...The same is true of dreams. Unfortunately, when things release like this, they cross the visual field of imagination, but that it not sinful, just irritating, but maybe healing, like I said. Pray also to the angels to influence the imagination with holy thoughts and images when disturbed, and also ask Jesus in his precious blood to extend you the grace of forgetfulness of impure things from the past.
