Brother and sisters, I recently read Prison To Praise by Merlin Carothers. It is a life changing book. It teaches us something that doesn't seem logical from a purely human standpoint. What I mean is we are looking at pmo as something terrible, which taken by itself it is, but if we believe that God uses all things to work for good in our life (Rm 8:28) then we should thank and praise him for our addiction. (1 Thess 5:18) Doing this releases God's power to do what good he intends from our situation. It's an application of James 4:7 "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Try it.

Of course not, and I believe it is very good to do so. I only wanted to emphasize that twelve step organisations are not allied with any sect or denomination. All your quotes are from the Bible and like I said that is fine, but not everyone looking for help in a twelve step program will be following a religion. The twelve steps contain wisdom gathered from many sources. They are based on spiritual, not religious principes.
