Our need to be humble is clear, as pride will only ever lead to sin and death. But which humility? There is one that bends the knee to Christ as Master and bows to his will. That is very important! But this is not that much different than what many religions teach about our relationship to a Deity.

There is another type of humility that concedes to receive help from Christ the Master as he bend his knee and serves us! This is something new and wonderful, and I think, perhaps, we are in even greater need of this second sort of humility. We will never break free from sin by doing great things for Christ. We will only find freedom by receiving from him what he freely gives.

Humbling!
