Brother and sisters, I recently read Prison To Praise by Merlin Carothers. It is a life changing book. It teaches us something that doesn't seem logical from a purely human standpoint. What I mean is we are looking at pmo as something terrible, which taken by itself it is, but if we believe that God uses all things to work for good in our life (Rm 8:28) then we should thank and praise him for our addiction. (1 Thess 5:18) Doing this releases God's power to do what good he intends from our situation. It's an application of James 4:7 "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Try it.

The 12 Steps are based on spiritual principles, but the language emphasizes the presence of God as each participant/member understands him/her, allowing for different interpretations and religious beliefs.
Thank you.
