        From reading about this, many have reported that urges decrease in time. And also they decrease in intensity. The beginning stages are the toughest.

        Did it for about a year a while ago. I hardly ever got sick anymore, but that was about it for me. As cold as your shower allows it, but maybe ease into it at first.

        It boost your immunity as was already mentioned. But regarding the urges it might offer temporary relief. Cold water increases bloodflow around your body creating a shock, so at that moment getting a dopamine kick is secondary. Makes you stronger mentally, so in long term it is beneficial in that regards as well
