People can be prone to addiction due to escapism but that's not a lack of connection with people it's a lack of connection with emotional pain.

Learn to be grateful for the fact that the pain is reminding you with its great power that you are stronger than it. You don't need to learn how to escape pain there will alway be times you lack connection you need to learn how to enjoy the pain after all its completing you on your strength and keeping you from addiction.
