        Had a triggering event yesterday. SUPER aroused by a woman. After, I saw how my choices set me up for that (having too much caffeine and sugar, for example) but it is SO HARD to come down from that rush and not edge for more. Very near slip today, but not outright edging.

        I will stick with it. I have to give up my whole life strategy of controlling my arousal levels through masturbation and edging. Control for me turns into overuse and abuse (of self). Sticking to it and optimistic. Withdrawing from abnormal dopamine levels.

        Thanks. 2 1/2 years without porn (3 little slips), 252 days without MO, but I see that I see that I control my dopamine and arousal levels through fantasy, ogling women, even by abusing caffeine and sugar. It's the perfect time to clean that up . . . right as I'm about to dive DEEP into 12 step recovery work. :)

        I just read a few articles on edging, from sex therapists and doctors. All had positive things to say about it and stated there were no side effects or consequences. I went almost a year without masturbation of any kind, and no orgasms, but have really struggled now that I am having sex.
