    Hello guys
I am discussing a major issue here
I want to know is it possible?
I used to have a very good memory means eidetic memory i was very good at studies but suddenly I started masturbation
Then I realized I am losing my focus and concentration I can't study and then I realized my memory is becoming tooweak .I can't remember even a name Iwas memory champion but now...
I am totally broken now I want to suicide
Is it possible this is due to masturbation?
If yes can I get back my eidetic memory

  2. Obviously I don't know because I haven't died yet but I don't think suicide is a good cure for memory problems. I'm not sure about masturbation but consuming massive amounts of stimulating information including porn in a rapid context-switching manner leads to brain-rot. At least my thinking center is toast compared to the time when my data diet consisted of books only. Whenever I go on a digital detox for a while I feel improvements in concentration, attention span and memory too. You could try that. But if you're a heavy user like me, expect it to be difficult. I struggle with it constantly.

Actually I don't watch porn videos I am not addicted to porn I masturbate due to sexual thoughts

  4. I can't answer your question, because I just dont know the science of memory and whether or not masturbation can effect it. But definitely don't commit suicide! That's not the answer. It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Even if you have terrible memory for the rest of your life, you can still have a great life. Ending your life will not fix that, and it will deeply hurt everyone who loves you. As someone who recently lost someone to suicide, trust me, I know. It's a terrible thing that will hurt a lot of people. You can get through this, but they might not be able to get through that.

Also, there are a lot of factors that effect memory. Stress can be one of them. If you're really stressed out and have a lot going on, it's easier to forget things. I'm a very busy person, especially lately, and I have to use a lot of calendars and reminders, or else it will just go in one ear and out the other when someone tells me I need to do something.

I'm sure you're fine. Lots of people have average or decent memories, and they live happy fulfilling lives.

    Hello @Jane elise ,

I’m sorry to hear that you are struggling. Rebooting has its ups and downs, just like life. We see many people experiencing both the ups and downs during the reboot, and though it may be hard to see now, these feelings you are having won’t last forever. It will get better with time, if you are patient and wait.

In the meantime, please seek professional help. I know the idea of calling a helpline might terrify you, but in times of crisis, we often need someone their to put our lives in perspective. So please contact someone who can help and don’t hang up on them. The International Association for Suicide Prevention maintains a list of suicide prevention hotlines for countries all over the world. Also, if you don’t feel up to actually talking to someone on the phone, StopSuicide maintains a list of online instant messaging and chat suicide prevention resources.

You are not alone in this. There are ways to treat depression. Please contact people that can help you. Being depressed often makes it feel like you don’t have any more options. But that is a lie. That is just the depression talking. These feelings you have won’t last forever. We are in this with you, and we will all be cheering for you to get through this!

    Hello again,

There is a really good post viewing PMO with traditionnal chinese medecine : https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/6-years-clean-rebooting-as-the-best-remedy.135983/
I think you can recover a lot with serious rebooting and maybe implemeting new health habits... I don't know if you can recover edeitic memory but myself I can recovered muxh focus and clarity gradually after months of qi gong and no PMO.

Masturbation is like losing essence, too much of it and health will deteriorate of course your state of mind will fall too. Persist in rebooting and remember to love yourself and be patient.
Cut sexual thoughts as soon as they come.
    Tell us of your progress!

Great! Go on and write down your general state of being after some milestones (7days, 2 weeks...) for you to see the difference with before.

Hey! Were on the same streak! Congrats! You might have to go a little longer before you feel any effect. Have you tried meditation for your memory?

Mayb u shld try. To center yourself and rebuild ur concentration.
I'm just talking out of hat here, from the bits and pieces I know, but m gives the body an instant rush of dopamine without having to focus on anything. So no delayed gratification, which. An train you mind out the co station needed for focus getting you to the long term gratification of retaining the knowledge ur trying to remember. Maybe mediation will help retrain that muscle

  16. I'm not a doctor so I won't pretend to have the answers you would like to have I can tell you about my story, I had a really good memory too back to my high school years, I studied only the day before tests and still I was one the best students in the class, then when I was 16 PM came along and I lost everything, my focus, my reading ability( when it came out I read harry potter and the order of phoenix in 12 hours of non stop reading, last year I stopped at page 100 of the first book that I read in 3 days) I recognized that my problem with PM was really harmful for me, was stealing my energies so I quitted and now after 109 days I can see the difference again, sticking with harry potter's example(that if it wasn't clear enough is my favorite book's saga), 3 weeks I read them all in 6 days, so after 90 days I am gaining again some ability to focus and also my memory and my ability are slowly come back. so I tell just two things:
    - be patient I see by your profile that you're only 19, you have all your life to live there's no rush to recover so take the time you need and don't seek always for results they'll came :)
    - about the part of suicidal thoughts I agree with @Castielle , when you lose someone this way you get to understand that this is never the answer, the answer is always happiness, so live your happy life and if you want your memory back just train it and it'll come back trust me :)
