Day 18

No pmo. No Instagram with the parade of fitness t and a, that to me might as well be porn because it takes me down the same rabbit hole anyway. No daily news websites with outrage sound bites talking about scandals. No scrolling through social media platforms that starts with a variety of emotional and mental responses that slowly decrease in intensity until I’m a zombie, a monkey, flicking his thumb to see more, more, more....

Spartans, I am battling FOMO hard. Missing out on all those hits of chemicals and psychological games. Missing out on instant gratification. Missing out on things I don’t even know I’m missing out on because I’m not online. The black hole beckons me. It sings to me like sirens. Calling me to shipwreck.

Ahead of me, the uncertainty. The unpainted canvas. Will I find adventure? Doom? Joy? Pain? The screen calls me and offers a promise. It says come back, scroll and surf in our digital ocean, choose exactly what kind of emotional and mental experience you want to have. It’s all yours. Endless. Ephialtes went down that path. It is not only that he was a traitor to his homeland, he chose the promise of endless pleasure and comfort and lost his freedom and glory.

I have heard from other Spartans that the path is difficult and treacherous. Yet they all speak the same truth. They all say that the old way is a path to hell. The old way is always there. In my pocket. Tempting me. Calling me to flick my thumb and conjure the digital dopamine drip.

Fellow Spartans, our strength is found in each other. We must celebrate each other for our efforts. We must share honestly our successes and our struggles. We must serve not only our selves, but our Spartan community. We must show appreciation for each other. Thank you all, thank you @Kratos_GOW

Thank you for this. I need to maintain a strong mentality. I need to identify with the warrior mindset. I need to be connected to this community of warriors. The ones who have no doubt about the path to freedom and glory. Spartans!!!!!

Got to start from day 0. Had a relapse due to some minor distraction... But not giving up. Standing up again to resist the enemy!

 

Glad you are choosing to continue with us after some struggle. Stay strong

Need to improve the previous record

 

Some people might wish to make this part of their morning routine, being explicit, asking themselves every morning:

"What are the standards with which I wish to live my life?"

And if tempted to fap later on in the day pause and ask:

"Is this act really consistent with the standards I have set myself for my life?"

 

That's one of the ultomate questions, I resisted urges on basically 3 different ways during this streak:
1. just immediately do something else, some time later I can think about that urge from an appropiate distance and shake my head about it. A good feeling not to have given in arises afterwards.

2. Sit it out. Don't distract yourself. your horniness will eventually decrease and you have won and continue stronger than ever.

3. watch something related to porn but in a informative way, like a ted talk, former addicts talking about themselves or actors.

Holy sh*t, I can't believe it, I just was able to put the mark of "spartan challenge" in the correct way, I don't even know how I did it.
Day 13, today I received my payment and talked with a girl that I like (she started the conversation, that's good).
