What the hell? I was able to get semi-erect?

You never know. My point is that you can't compare any part of your journey with anyone else. You can certainly learn from some of the common experiences of fellow NoFap members, but you have to conquer NoFap your own way.

    Just so you know....

We use the term flatline to mean something that occurs during the recovery process of the reboot.

I think what you are describing is something that is happening to your arousal now, without you having been on the reboot. We tend to use the term 'Porn Induced Erectile dysfunction', to describe the arousal issues you have when you are using porn and also trying to be in a relationship (or other sexual intimacy).

Flatline is a situation that can happen when you do a reboot. It's kind of a withdrawal situation. Some people are shocked, but they may find that when they stop PMO, all the sudden all desire and libido are gone. Not everybody has that occur, but those that have been doing PMO way to much may. Flatlines can also sneak up on you as irritability, feelings of sadness, hyperactivity, or other kinds of abnormal mood changes. Again, it's your body going through withdraw, and your hormones and libido establishing a pattern. While this is temporary, usually a day or so, it can reoccur more than once during your reboot.

I know all this is concerning. However, it's worth it. If you use PMO as a comfort/coping behavior, it will effect your relationships and your ability to have intimacy during sex. Think of it this way, while some are 'poly-amorous' and believe in the ability to love more than one person at once. Most of us don't know how to balance relationships with more than one person. In this case, you are in a relationship with porn, and she is demanding sexually. For the sake of all the other relationships you want to have, you have to break up with porn. Your body is going to grieve because you miss porn (because she was so much fun). However, if you want to have a deeper relationship, and not have your body fail on you down the line, then you are going to have to let it go.

This is what happened. One day I masturbated (prone, mind you) and within 2-3 days after the desire and libido vanished.

First thing that jumps out.... prone masturbation has been proven to create problems in erections. In short, it's a style that will harm the normal process of erections, and is counter to how penetrative intercourse occurs. Even if you never give up masturbation, I would encourage you to change your style to something else, and perhaps incorporate a male toy instead. (I can say this because in my youth, I used to practice prone as well. It took awhile to learn how to achieve release via penetrative intercourse, and I question if it isn't the reason for my delayed ejaculation today).

I'm not entirely sure that 'flatline' is appropriate to your situation. It opposite to how we normally use that term to describe a concern. There is a warning, that once you give up masturbation (especially if you were a daily user) that you can temporarily feel no libido. In your case, it seems that you have a natural process where masturbation addressed your needful state, so you felt no desire afterwards for some time. Whatever term you wish to use, I encourage you to keep on your NoFap journey. It sounds like its starting to work for you, as long as you get more consistent with it.

I agree. Prone masturbation is bad. I have stopped doing it. I just hope that it didn't fuck up my penis, from a physical standpoint.

Are you sure? Hmm. I wonder what I have then? I do know that prior to my erectile dysfunction, I was seeking out porn-subs quite frequently, hypersexual in action, edging, and masturbating a lot. I even downloaded a gay dating app to masturbate to men to. Then one day after a prone masturbation session (for the bigger dopamine high), my penis and testicles felt different. Numb, if you will. The following days later my libido and desire dropped and everything shrank. It was crazy weird (and still is) to this day. My only conclusion is that porn-subs fucked up the dopamine neurotransmitters in my brain. My doctor assured me that there was nothing wrong with my penis. What else could it be?

I have discovered that I do have a sexual/social loneliness though. I think that has a lot to do with accepting myself as gay and having no gay friends or support. The masturbation was a way to address that stress. Perhaps the loneliness board can help me out?

I hope this gives you more clarity into my issue.

I think I'm in some super-long flatline because since everyone's flatline is different, mine is as well. It's just weird because I literally one day fapped and then I got into a flatline state 2-3 days after and starting experience the depression and psychological effects of a flatline. That's why i think I'm in some sort of a flatline state because I am suffering the psychological effects. Only concern is that I haven't abstained in order to get into a flatline.

Anyone else here able to relate maybe? I don't understand how I got into a flatline after fapping from a hyperarousal and what that basically means.

Starting my reboot this week. I'm worried and concerned. Can the penis be shrunken even if it's not flatline and it still count as PIED? I'm hoping that you're right and just staying the fuck away from porn, will indeed cure this PIED I have and reset my brain as well.

There is another concept of 'sexual exhaustion'. When you masturbate, especially to porn, it may be possible to have a shorter 'refractory period' than in real life (this means you can get up and ejaculate again after orgasm). If you do this, and start a habit where you either 'edge' which keeps you in pleasure (but avoiding final orgasm) for extended times (hours in some cases), or you use more energetic masturbation to get you over the finish line 2, 3, or more times. You may be putting your body under stress, and depletion of sperm (possible vitamins and minerals). (This is also where some in NoFap believes your brain gets flooded with a neuro-chemical that makes the next attempt harder to achieve (but also more desirable, because it's more challenging). It also means that you can get confusing signals in arousal. (Kind of 'I would kind of like that, but not feeling it, but emotionally I want that, and know I should want that, because yesterday I would have totally rocked that, but now there is no magic down below')

I think this is what happened to me.

As many have commented you really can't have a flatline without a reboot and it does not appear that throughout this journey you have stopped PMO long enough for that to occur. You are likely just having a different drive which is quite normal even for non addicts. Things happen you are tired stressed feel bad that all effects sex drive. What I see with PMO addicts is that most have no idea what their natural sex drive is. They PMO not because the body is telling them to procreate but for a myriad of reasons unrelated to sex drive. They are sad, bored, etc. Then when they want to stop they can't do they are doing it on auto pilot but still nothing to do with sex drive. So IMO what the reboot is doing is resetting the body to status quo. Many men realize hey I don't need to O everyday I really only need it once a week and they say that's a flat line. You have to figure out what your natural non porn induced drive is which until you stop porn for a significant period of time you won't know. And it does not happen overnight. For many it takes a lot longer than expected causing them to give up when they don't see results. Or to say I'm only doing this if I know 100% it will work or I'm not doing this because it will cause my penis to shrink . My partner used all of these. He also thought his penis was shrinking I assure you it was not. I even went so far as to measure it to show him! My point being he was not seeing things as they were and was struggling to find any reason he could to not stop the PMO. I as a non addict could so clearly see this but in his addiction he could not. So I suggest that maybe you try to see that what all the guys on here are saying Is true but that maybe right now you can't fully appreciate it because of your addiction. As time goes on and you get clean you will. Another thing you may not be able to see is how much better your sex life with a partner will be once you quit because you have never had that before you have no clue what you are missing. If you could touch the pot of gold over the rainbow you would I believe be more motivated. But for now you can't even see it we just keep telling you it's there. It is there and if you work hard you will reach it and the reward will be much better than what you get from pmo.

The primary cause of oxygen deprivation is ischemia the blockage of vessels. tHis is same condition blood vessels leading to heart problems may lead to ED

Diabetes may acts as important contribution with Ed problems

High blood pressure is more common and severe in men with hyper tension than is in general population.
