Hey guys, this is my first post on this forum. I have actually known about nofap for a couple years, but recently I hit rock bottom in a way, and it motivated me to actually start trying to quit PMO for real. As it turns out though, I'm so addicted that simply making a commitment is not enough. I still am using it every day.

I'm almost 23 and I've been hooked on porn since I was young, I'm still a virgin, and very depressed that I have almost zero experience with real women.

I dont ever want to watch that shit again, I hate how it controls me. Alas, I even jerked off this morning, which is my main bad habit.

I need help from you guys. Where do I start?

(Apologies if this is in the wrong section)

Welcome! Glad to see you here!

The advice I would give is to explore the community at the best pace with which you feel comfortable. When I first came to NoFap, I was incredibly relieved - there were people out there who understood what I was going through! I was not alone! Here I can find suggestions and brotherhood! These suggestions and brotherhood have meant more to my recovery than trying to succeed on pure willpower.

Thus, I recommend beginning a journal for the purposes of exploring the hold that PMO has over you. If you don't feel ready to do such exploring yet, then maybe go to the forum section and read some journals to get a feel for what it's like here. We're older than you are, but the link to my journal should be under my avatar - you're welcome to read any of it and the regular commenters on my journal are top-notch people whose own journals have inspired me and changed me for the better.

Feel free to reach out for advice - I have found that most people respond well to being asked. The best of luck to you!

It is a big step if you can understand what is triggering your urges, because this will allow you to be awake and kill those urges as soon as they appear.

I recommend you to create your own "Emergency Toolbox" with readings that can be handy to read when you start feeling urges to screw up.
I can share this post with you with my own Emergency Toolbox, it helped me a lot during the first few months, i had them in my cell and read them every time I started falling down:

    https://forum.nofap.com/index.php?t...out-of-the-autopilot-when-i-get-urges.264231/
I wrote some tips in this post that perhaps will help you too:

    http://NoFap.com/forum/index.php?threads/tips-that-helped-me-to-start-my-reboot.46617/#post-330318
You can watch some interesting videos which are also very helpful in this post:

I also suggest you to read "Breaking the Cycle" by George Collins, it is a must-read if you are serious about getting rid of this addiction.
To get more focus and feel happier with life I recommend you to start doing meditation.. I have been using an App called Headspace for the last two months which is great if you have never meditated before. The first 10 sessions are free if you want to give a try. I used to feel a bit depressed or feeling without energy to start new projects in my life, and meditation has helped me a lot with this.

Last but not least, I would strongly recommend you to take new e-course that Mark Queppet launched in his new website, called: " REFORGED MAN: Quit porn and Master Yourself-Be a Man you Admire", it is the updated version of the e-course he used to have in NoFap Academy. It is not cheap ($200) but it is totally worth it because he gives great toold to fight PMO.You can find it here:
    https://courses.universalman.com/courses/reforged-man
You can also join his website called Patreon, where he posts great stuff for free every week, and also you can join the pay area to be part of his weekly video calls where you can chat with them in real life, get coaching and listen to other guys's stories and problems too. You can find it here:
    https://www.patreon.com/home
You can also use this Excel table to track your reboot. If you did not watch P or MO'd you leave it in 0 and it will show gree, if you did it you fill in in the column (PMO or MO) with the amount of times, if it was 1 it will show in yellow, 2 or more in red. In the left column you can add how strong the urges were each day.

I hope that all this helps you to fight this shitty addiction.

Find some stuff you can love and it won't be such a battle.

    In theory at least?

  6. Heyyy welcome to the NoFap forum : ) It's nice to see you here fighting the good fight alongside us!

First let me go ahead and drop some helpful links for you:

Getting Started Guide / Forum Rules / How to Use the NoFap forums/ Glossary/ NoFap Panic button/ Set up your day counter / Rebooting Resources/ About NoFap/ Support NoFap

    Here is just some advice:

First and foremost please take a look at each section in the forum, there might be something(s) you may find of big help to you. Feel free to post there :+)

Then secondly I just advise you to be active on your profile(as there a few active people in the profile section). Please start by choosing an avatar and then make daily status posts to show you're active and needing support/encouragement. They've also got a neat little feature that shows freshly posted statuses for all users to see. People will find your profile and give you encouragement/support.

Theres a portion of people who love communicating in the profile section..(it should be and is )mostly spportive talk but it doesn't hurt to deviate from supportive talk. It would be great to have you join in and support others in the threads, profiles, and journal. Make sure and be grateful for the help you received and give some help after receiving some. Invest in some people's journeys. We could always use your help and in return you shall receive some as well!

Thirdly, You should also highly consider creating a public journal/log (in the appropriate section for you) and write about your days in more depth for us members to follow along your journey and offer support to you by way of posting in your journal.

Last but not least: Good luck on your journey here, make sure to really give it a try with all your heart!
