    Hi,
I am 19 years old I have been on my journey for about 5 months in total. During this 5 months I have not watched porn once as I realized it could inhibit me from having real life intimacy. Before the start of my journey I had no way to achieve an erection besides porn. Currently, I can get an erection without any fantasizing/porn and only sensation. The only problem is I feel like my erections are not the same as they were during porn. Is this normal? For example, I can maintain a decent erection while standing but as soon as I lay on my back it does not stand y’all anymore. Did anyone else experience this? Is it just a matter of time? Will no masturbation help this? I will appreciate any feedback!!!

I have actually experienced that while having sex with a woman...ok on top, but erection loses steam on the bottom. I don't know why, but I figure it MUST be psychological somewhat.

If you haven't watched porn in 5 months, you are doing great. Don't go back. You will only have huge regret later.

You stated you couldn't get an erection before, but NOW you can? That's a huge win! Think of it like that. You've already started to see benefits.

Be patient. It may take a bit more time. Maybe a month...maybe 3 months? BUT at least you have normal erections back WITHOUT porn. That's a huge victory.

You HAVE to keep those victories foremost in your head. It will only help you move forward. When you see good results (like you have), it will only help in your moving forward to FIX other issues. DO NOT get sidetracked with the "but what about when I lay back?" issue. Stay on track with the "Well..I got one thing working in the right direction, so let's keep moving forward." Stay focused and stay patient. Patience seemed to have worked with the porn thing...so, now at least you know that patience does indeed work. And it really does.

Stay the course. Everything will fall into place. It will.

Thanks a lot for your reply man... It really means more than you know. Do you think that will get better over time? Because I had crazy strong erections with porn and I'm just hoping that I can get back to that level with enough time away from artificial stimuli.

I believe it does get better. That's why I'm doing it. If I didn't believe, I certainly wouldn't be doing this.

Take a look at the research that Gary Wilson has done (Youtube) on internet porn. Your brain's pathways have been altered by the pixel-ed stimuli. It takes time to turn it around. But it does turn around. It's like recovering from an injury. Time and rest. Give it that time.

All the research says that once you stop using internet porn, your brain's pathways have the ability to heal again. I believe that.
