Is anyone here interested in doing spiritual work that requires ego/defect/vice removal through psychoanalysis, meditation and transmutation?

    Of course.

My spiritual practice requires I remain free of ego. I certainly do not expect to entirely annihilate it while I am on this forum as that is a tremendous task and will be connecting with a spiritual teacher offline to guide me further once I've gotten a new grip here!

But yes I am fully committed towards spiritual work.

My ego got the better of me today.

It wasn't an arrogant state that arose, it was just basically allowing my mind to drift aimlessly and acting out on what seemed like a benign thought.

I searched the name Persephone on Google Images. How silly is that? That was the catalyst that led to me allowing my ego to take over for probably less than all of 20 minutes over the period of a half hour or so I think. My conscience & mindfulness stopped what could have been a terrible relapse.

I edged to some pictures of random females.

    Restart.

So what work were you speaking of Alpinist? I have my practice as a Buddhist in place, but that won't interfere at all with this. No it will be synergistic. Just let us know what your plan is with the work assuming you had something in mind.

This is really good to know! The fact that you're even going to get personal guidance is a testament to your committment - big ups man! So, what do you mean by getting a new grip here, what would you like to achieve via NoFap on your journey?

On how the ego got you today, what for me remains noteworthy is that you quickly regained yourself and even though you edged, you didn't allow yourself you to get carried away altogether - good going! This NoFap work requires the highest diligence because craving for sexual pleasure is powerful and can be overwhelming if we're not trying awaken the consciousness and being self-observant from moment to moment.

My plan is to annihilate the egos underlying PMO addiction, and all addictions in my life but PMO is one of the big ones so it requires focus. I have managed to reboot on hard mode for up 316 days, I haven't beat that "high score" but I have reached long streaks thereafter still 180 + days, 80 + days etc. My aim however is to remove PMO from my life altogether and to reclaim my sexuality and bring it back in harmony with the divine. To do so, I must get to the root of it which is egos. The main one is Lust but there are also more subtle egos like Fear, Laziness, Doubt which all add to the weight of the matter and these must be comprehended and annihilated as well. To do so I'm practicing Sexual Transmutation for single people as taught by Gnostic Sage Samael Aun Weor - Christic Egyptian Pranayama and working on comprehending the way in which these ego states (emotions-feelings-thoughts-sensations) keep me a slave to PMO.

Your practice as Buddhist is actually very valuable, quite contrary any form of interference. The Gnostic teachings emphasise the value of all genuine spiritual traditions and Buddhism is one of them. In fact, the annihilation of egos is the buddhist annihilation. Samael Aun Weor states this as follows: "Please, brothers and sisters, reflect profoundly! You must dedicate yourselves to work intensely upon yourselves. You must comprehend the processes of lust, which is the worst enemy of the the dissolution of the ego, the worst enemy of buddhist annihilation. Who does not have lust? Who has never had lust? Nevertheless, lust has to be reduced to ashes." [Source]

In another lecture he stated: "The Bodhichitta is accumulated little by little within us as we gradually eliminate the undesirable psychic elements. Thus, the Bodhichitta can only fully and totally exist when all the undesirable elements of the psyche have been annihilated. This is why it is stated in rigorous orthodox Buddhism that "we must pass through the Buddhist annihilation," an expression that frightens many pseudo-esotericists and pseudo-occultists." I was just using that phrase as it NoFap's tagline so to speak on their logo here, lol.

Firstly PMO is immoral in my eyes, and so inevitably it corrodes my sense of dignity which means I basically degrade and dehumanize myself each time I fap.

Secondly, I feel that real adults do not masturbate. Now this isn't saying it is something that highly successful professionals do not engage in, no. Highly 'successful' people fap. I am talking about what an 'adult' is in a spiritual sense. It just goes against what I feel a responsible human being would engage in. It is a waste of energy, a waste of life force, and in that sense alone is unethical to engage in. I also understand it to be 'upside down' behavior in a spiritual sense. We're going back into the prison of ourselves with it, when we should be coming out of the prison.

Thirdly, lust. What a corrupting force. I don't feel one can fap without lust for the body. Just doesn't happen. One's psyche has to be totally twisted to claim that masturbating is "loving" oneself.

So by get a new grip I suppose I mean overcome all bad habits with PMO being the one that is the most destructive as it fuels other addictions for me like drinking. I wouldn't drink alcohol if I didn't fap that's how bad it is.

I could go on but I think that covers it for the most part.

Do you have any video recommendations or books by Samael? I mean we could start by discussing his material. I'm at a library right now I will see if they have books actually.

I do know who he is btw, I have read pages of his texts before. Those are great quotes you shared. My addiction actually became so bad I was partaking of demonic imagery and music during binges. Clearly knowing what the energy behind the lust was. Not good.

What happens is I get intoxicated when I binge, and I truly feel bad spirits take over man. This shit needs to stop.

Well look at that, there is an available copy of The Gnostic Bible by Samael Aun Weor on the shelf of the library I'm in right now. Will start reading it today.

I totally agree with all these sentiments. PMO is immoral and beastial, most hard porn totally disregards the dignity and sanctity of what it means to express love through sexual union between a couple. What you noted here about lust is so true and the sad things is that the average person's psyche is totally twisted, not to mention my own psyche - that's why I'm here too, tryna break free and heal. But what you're mentioning here is so honest, so true. Those of us addicted to PMO are very twisted psychologically, and if we remain in denial of this and do not face our own dark subconscious elements then we continue to degenerate further and further with each binge. This is what attracted me to the teachings of Master Samael Aun Weor, he never held back about the truth that our enemy is within us, in the depths of our psyches and that this is enemy can be quite dark, twisted and is not easy to defeat but with an iron will and solemn determination.

Indeed, these forces are interconnected and have the same roots, different branches going in seemingly very different directions but at their core, they have one bark and share the same roots and they fuel each other. All forms of addiction are rooted in inward suffering, shame, pain and darkness in one way or another. Our duty is go within and deal with whatever afflicts us.

Have you ever heard of the spiritual forces of sexual darkness - Incubi, Succubi, Lilith and Nahemah? These things are real, very real. They feed of intoxication, and all vices. Check out this definition of Lilith: "(also Lilit; Hebrew לילית‎, "the night visitor") An ancient symbol appearing in Sumerian mythology (4000 BC). In the Zohar she is described as the feminine half or the first "wife" of Adam (the first man), and is the origin of many demonic spirits (elementaries) who plague mankind, including the sucubi and incubi generated by masturbation and sexual fantasy."

That's good news! The Gnostic Bible is great, its based on the Pistis Sophia, one of the ancient Gnostic texts alongside others of the Nag Hammadi texts. In it Samael Aun Weor unveils the true meaning of the Pistis Sophia using Kabbalah and Tarot numerology. However it is a more general book and I recommend to read a more practical book as well in order to help you as you are now. In this vein I'd recommend books that help us work on our psyches and help us lift ourselves from our own inner darkness, namely: Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology and The Revolution of the Dialectic. I've read Treatise but I haven't read The Revolution and I'd be happy to read it and discuss it with you chapter by chapter like you suggested above if you're keen. Additionally my recommendations for material for you are below.

    Recommended Books:
    • All of Samael Aun Weor's books are available online here at Gnosticteachings.org You can read them for free online.
    • You can also download all his books in one zip folder here: SAMAEL AUN WEOR.ro However, their english translations may not be as good as Gnosticteachings.

I will look for those. I prefer not to read books digitally.

Yes I noticed The Gnostic Bible is like his commentary on The Pistis Sophia. Quite an unveiling read.

@Alpinist I rather not talk much more about dark forces outside of perhaps reading Samael's works, but yes I know all those.

It certainly does not seem coincidental for me to have searched for succubi artwork including Lilith while "possessed" under intoxication while bingeing.

@plant goodness I understand you man. Better to get to work and lift one's vibrations rather than focusing on dark-negative ones. Well then, let us get to work on ourselves for the good of our souls and mankind! ;)

I am but I'm currently struggling with it though. With all the commotion in our lives, I don't find sufficient time to simply meditate. I'll try to get work done quickly to free up some space.
