I am new, my name is "ignacio"(obv not real) and I was introduced to pornography at a very young age, my older cousin used to show me porn when I was only 7-8 years old, I remember then after never being set free from it's grasp, I have been trying and struggling to quit for moral and religious reasons, I have also read all of the non-religous benefits and I think they are great also. I just never was able to quit after years and years of trying, I'm hoping this community can help me and I will never stop trying to be free. Thanks for reading

    Welcome
Please, start studying carefully what's happening in your mind > https://oceanrecoverycentre.com/2016/07/the-ultimate-guide-to-overcoming-internet-porn-addiction/

First time without porn will be stressful , but if you resist , in some months you will feel reborn.

If the first times a person relapse easly, it's okay.
The streaks becomes even longer , day by day.
Don't porn anymore, it's better to struggle and at the last to relapse than to look at porn.
No more instagram pictures of models. No more erotic imagines , erotic stories or erotic asmr.
If you experience ''flatline'' and low libido , resist.

We should improve in all area of our life, just being dissatisfied or stressed makes us relapse.

An effective weapon to overcome urges and thoughts : mindfulness.
The brain will try to win you and to get some triggers for the seek of dopamine. Resist

    Welcome Ignacio!
You gonna find a lot of threads talkin about how to beat this addiction.. but I would like to say some things:..
    1. You need to confess. You need to talk with somebody about your addiction. That was the 1st step I made to start my recovery. You should start to think about a person, a really good friend or family member who you trust and love. It gonna take time, courage and it gonna be sooo hard and embarrasing to do it but also going to be sooooooo healing. Don't save anything, be clear and say it loud. it took me 6 years to do it but when i did it.. my life changed..
    2. Set a realistic goal. Maybe 15 days to start.. then 30, then 60 and then 90 days.
    3. Read a looot abour this addiction and work harder.. this isnt easy or fast.. actually is sooooo freacking hard and it takes a loooong time..
I really really hope you can reach your first goal and do what you need to do to start..
    Good luck!
