Hi everyone! I'm new here. Does anyone have a playlist or know of any good music that doesn't include sexual themes? I've been staying away from rap and hiphop for obvious reasons. I like EDM, jazz and hard rock. EDM is usually okay, but sometimes I'll get a song that repeats trigger words. Maybe including a rebooting resources tab would be a good idea.

I'll just start posting some EDM music I like here. One of my favorite EDM artist is Junior Sanchez. His tracks "Keep On Reachin", "Believe" and "Figure of Jazz" are some of my faves.

I didn't know you could get triggered by word in a song.

I mostly listen to soundtrack and instrumental. So that way you will be sure to not be triggered.

  7. Most Metal is fine, as long as you stay away from a select few bands.

There is a ton of music that isn't. But most mainstream and perhaps even not so popular is getting more pornified or just sexualized so a valid enough concern?

Or just asking a question that is kind of awkward?

A rebooting resources tab? For non sexual music?

I agree that a lot of pop music is hyper-sexualised, not just the videos but the lyrics and the emotional content. No big deal for me as I don't listen to it. Movies were a problem for me. A little bit of sexy clothing was enough to send me looking for the 'real thing'.

I'm very easily triggered. I have a very big imagination and if I give it just a little bit of sexual content it will run wild with it.

Just in general. The panic button is helpful, but including a list of resources that is easily accessible would be cool.

Thank you, this is how I feel as well. It doesn't take a lot to get me triggered. I've strayed away from mainstream music as well.

Taking it too seriously is how I got to day 5. The second I let my guard down and start trying to justify my actions I relapse.

Nah man, this isn't a joke. I have struggled with this as well. Specific songs and music genres trigger me with sexual sounds and words.

Listen to the Technicolors and Corn on My Dinner Plate. Both are very different bands, but fantastic music

Yeah but it's about giving up porn. Not about not having sexual fantasies and giving up sex. These things are normal.

It starts with one seemingly harmless thought, but then it grows in your mind till you need more. You might have the privilege of having sex to release these thoughts, but for me I don't see a lot of action and therefore can't indulge.

I actually started enjoying the album "Hi This Is Flume" by Flume on my journey. It's deep into the 'Flume style', but I started appreciating that kind of music more the further I got into my streak. Little to no sexual words in the whole album, just pure music. Maybe sometimes the word 'fuck' in 1 track. Enjoy!

Also: Tom Misch! The dude is a genius.
I recommend his album "Geography" and the single "Good to Be Home" with Barney Artist and Loyle Carner.
