is watching porn rewarding is good

Well...you're asking this question on a recovery site for porn addiction, so.... No. No it's not good to reward yourself with porn.

 

A reward? No - a reward is something worth having. If you win a race you get a medal. You don't get to watch P like a loser.
Wise up and go for a better reward, because watching P is not a reward. It's bullshit.

 

This is an odd question on a forum site for people trying to rid their life of porn. Have you tried chocolate as a reward?

Seriously - why are you here? Are you trying to give up porn? If you are then clearly associating it with a reward system is a terrible idea. Are there other things you could treat yourself with?

 

You are literally setting yourself up to become addicted to porn. By making porn a "reward" you are training your brain to look to it as a means of fulfillment and as the purpose of doing other productive things, like studying. Eventually you may just skip all the things you're "supposed to do"'to receive the reward and go straight to the porn. In fact it sounds like you may already be doing this since you say "you watch it in the mornings it doesn't have to be any particular time."

Porn isn't a reward. It doesn't have to be earned or worked for. You click-click-click and its there. Stop now. Porn is not necessary, it's not real and it's negatives far outweigh any positives.

 

Obviously, you're never going to break free from porn addiction if you allow yourself to indulge in porn as a reward for completing your studies or whatever others tasks you have during a day.

Perhaps approach it like this: Write down a list of everything you can think of which you would regard as a reward. Next, write down these three headings: Positive Effect/Neutral/Negative Effect. Carefully consider each item you've written down and decide whether partaking of it will have a positive effect on your life, no discernible effect, or a negative effect. In the future, when you decide to reward yourself for completing tasks, make sure to only choose from the rewards which you've determined will either have a positive effect or at least will not have a negative effect.

I'd like to say that it goes without saying that porn will have a negative effect on your life and should therefore never be used as a reward, but after the initial post I'm not so sure. Either way though, I can say with absolute certainty that continued use will have a hugely negative effect on the quality of your life and should therefore be avoided at all costs.
