Do you consider writing erotica to be pornography?

There is a semi-popular subreddit about finding a partner and writing erotica together in a back and forth manner in a story.

Does this have the same effect on the body as pornography? Or because it is not visual, is it different? Does it activate a different part of the brain because it all has to be imagined?

Honestly I think erotica is worse if you have an active imagination (which I do) because it offers a potentially infinite source of dopamine that images and videos simply cant offer. Even at my most porn-addled I could only handle watching favourite videos or viewing favourite images a few times before I got sick of them, while certain sentences or even words in erotica still trigger me even now.

This may also be the wrong place to post this, I just wasn't sure if it goes in the rebooting forum

How do you feel about it being more interactive, that you are dependent on another person to keep it going? Is that better than porn?

I havent used the subreddit you are referring to, I was talking about erotica I had looked for on various websites in the past. I imagine if I had fallen down the rabbit hole of writing my own erotica, alone or otherwise, it would have been more potent than the rest of the porn I consumed combined.

That is something I will consider for sure

Could you explain why? I understand how porn affects the dopamine in your brain, but my main draw to said subreddit is the interaction between my partner and myself, and it never aroused me enough to actually get me off

I have a lot of experience with erotic fiction, unfortunately. I don't consider it any different than watching porn. It effects you pretty much the same, as far as I know. If you're looking for scientific evidence or something, this probably isn't the place to ask for that. I just have my experience.

    It's in the name. "erotic"a

If it's meant to sexually excite you, than it can affect your reboot.

Thank you for the insight...it's given me a lot to consider, and what I am willing to allow to still consider my reboot in effect, and I don't think there is an easy answer, or maybe I don't want there to be
