Has Anyone Here Ever Paid For Porn Before?

I contemplated but never did.

But seriously bro... 200$ in 6 Years? I´ve probably spent more than 200$ on gasoline in the last 6 days, lol. Okay maybe more like 10 days.
What I´m trying to say is that a 200$ mistake is nothing compared to some of the other useless stuff everybody bought in their lifes.

 

I have paid for porn. The stuff I like is hard to find, even on the internet. I've spent money for DVDs/digital downloads.

I also spent money on cam sites. I tend to look for girls that only go on to try it out. If I get something out of it, win. Then I never like to let go of it since I have something you can't find anywhere else.

I still have it. Shooting myself in the foot, but yeah.

 

Whatever we paid in dollar amounts is nothing compared to the other costs of porn. It kills the soul, body, mind, personal relationships, career, you name. It might have cost me millions so far. Even though I spent very little actual cash on it.

But what I really cannot understand is why almost none of you guys in this thread have upgraded your membership here to Premium by paying a minimum of $10 a month. For those that have spent money on porn, why won't you contribute to this porn recovery resource? You just expect the @Alexander Rhodes to resource most of it out of the goodness of his heart.

Yes I did buy a lot of monthly subscriptions.Thats why I call the p. Industry the Pablo Escobar of the modern age.It makes you addicted with free little samples and clips.Like many other drugs,you get hooked and pulled into it,making you think you need more.Then end up buying really expensive subs to more sites to buy the full content and don't even care how much is spent just to get that high.I spent sooo much money throught the years.Clips,subscriptions and toys.I was out of control big time.Then didn't care of I lost my jobs and stopped going to school for it.Its bad

The "sales pitch" just seemed more like a guilt trip to me, especially that last line.

I wouldn't mind contributing to something that's helping me get better. I may still do it. When I find a job. I think the notion of giving back is good, but the way that entire thing was phrased seemed to attack and complain rather than appeal to generosity and appreciation. I think the latter would be a more effective method.

That aside, altho some of you in here have had problems with throwing money at porn and that's sad, I can't help but feel a little better that I'm not alone and that we see the problem and are at least trying to get out of it. I hope we all learn well from our past!

I tried the cam to cam sites, some premium video sites, and I even went to a few sex shops. The sex shops were a real turn on for me! Huge selection of toys to imagine, putting in various places. Its a really expensive way to waste your life.

I really think now medical advise should be changed to ensure people are aware of the real risks involved in porn consumption. Masturbation on its own is probably ok as part of a healthy social life, but its when it becomes a hobby, thats when the problems start!

 

Yeah. I am really annoyed and pissed off that there is no education out there about the harmful effects of porn consumption. Never was really aware of it until I found NoFap and did more research. Grateful I know now though.

I'm 45 and i originally started when i was about 9 or 10 looking at my stepbrother's and stepfather's magazines.
When I was still 17 i mustered up the courage to go into the local porn shop, a very skanky seedy one, and bought magazines of my own.
From then on there was no stopping me: got my own vcr, bought lots of tapes, then dvds. I would blow 80-100 dollars a clip. This went on for years and years until internet p arrived.
Lol one person previously posted about some old guys buying a stack of movies at a porn shop. Yes- that was my life. Honestly, i even experienced being laughed at by some younger kids in a porn shop who were there apparently just to buy a bong, and me there with like 5 or 6 videotapes piled in my hands.
God, those were the bad old days!

I paid for porn once in 1997. I turned 21 and my friend owned a pawnshop. So I bought a vhs tape for $5. LOL

I have never paid for porn, that was my one hard and fast rule.

Because at its core, for me, porn wasn't about finding the exact porn I wanted- there was no such thing_ but just porn that was new or new to me. If all you could get were 10 out of 150 pics from a picture set, or 30 second to 2 minute clips, I'd be just as hooked.

However, that's what made it so insidious- trying to save as much money as I can, that's how I justified it- at least it's free, and I'm not even hurting myself as if I was smoking, drinking or doing drugs.
